Hellohello, I've heard that some charters Require you to be Advanced certed to dive thier ops...

What I am wondering is has anyone ever heard of someone with a Master Diver cert (but no AOW) has ever been denied on a charter boat.

Gee; I thought AOW was a prereqesite for Master Diver.

At least not for SSI anyways... Rescue, 50 dives, and 4 other specialties are all that are required for the Master Diver cert. (at least according to SSI's website)

PADI prerequisite for Master Scuba Diver requires AOW.

the K

OW --> AOW --> RD ---50 dives---> MSD

They should make preriquisites(sp?) for AOW, I did it and i had done; OW 4 dives, and 2 other dives... thats it lol, unfortunately i got narced and burst a blood vessel in my ear... soooo... i ended up as an adventure!

SSI AOW = 4 specialties and 24 dives. So you had to go thru this experience level to get to master diver whether or not you got the AOW card.

They do, Open Water Diver. And youre supposed to get narced. Thats the point of the deep dive. PADIs AOW course is about using your basic skills from OW to experience new environments under supervision.

LOL - reminds me of something my uncle told me years back ... "You're 21 now, time to get drunk" ...

I sure hope there's more point to the deep dive than simply getting narced. A little bit of dive planning and gas management would sure come in handy ...
