SB'ers in Cozumel -- March

Ah Fooey Kat, I was hoping to hear about the Fontan. I am glad though that you got your deal for FA. Have you stayed there before? Michael and I are thinking about giving it a try for May. Hope all is well with you. March is just around the corner. :cheerleader: Sue

LOL ... I'm just getting you back for bugging out of the Fontan back in November!

Yes, we've stayed at FA last year, and it was really quite nice. Although no fridge in the rooms, we got a small cooler, and they have ice machines on every other floor. The room was large and pretty up-to-date, and the water is drinkable from the sink (sounds silly, but after so many stays at Caribe Blu, it's an added bonus!!) Water pressure was great. The free continental breakfast buffet was all I needed to get going, and it was an easy pick-up for Alison to get us. Didn't hang out at the main pool at all, but usually down at the palapa area on the water by the smaller pool.

The best deals we've found (on Orbitz) include the car (using the entertain200 code.) We weren't so sure about getting a car the first time around, but it worked out great. And after driving all week, we spent about a huge $16 to fill the tank!

Check it out for May ... maybe they're still having good deals for that time frame! Or better yet, come in March - it would be great to hang out with you!

Yea, Yea, I know , I bugged out first...well, maybe someone out there will give a review in the future. Regardless, I'm glad you found a good deal. We have passed FA as well as SI'd there in the past. It looks like it would be nice and it is close enough to town to warrant a cab fare to and back from town once a day. We shall see...we do have a little bit of time until May.

It would be fun to meet up in COZ someday, or even perhaps...dare I say...even somewhere down the street. Too bad we live so far apart :crazyeye: Catch up with you later. Sue

Is this buggin out about the Fontan literally meaning bugs? I am looking at a deal there the last week of march. I don't mind seeing a bug here & there but the thought of bed bugs gives me the heebie jeebies!

LOL! No .... Sue Sue booked there earlier this year, but then changed her mind (bugged out) and switched to Vista del Mar downtown. I booked for my March trip, but then FA showed up in the Orbitz deals and so I switched my booking as well. We're paying the same at FA ($538) for a room, car and breakfast for the week, as we would have at the Fontan, and since our dive op will pick us up at FA, we switched. The Fontan looks great, but it seems to be perpetually empty and there are only a couple of reviews out there to find, which made us a bit nervous.

If you end up booking, we'll be eager to hear what you think of the place!
