How much actually is the return flight from KK to LL? I have heard it is expensive.

The return flight from BKI to LLIR

SGD $382 with all airport tax (Singaporean Rate*)
USD $285 with all airport tax (International Rate)

*Applicable for Singaporeans, Singapore PR, Holders of Singapore work permit. Otherwise, International Rate shall apply.

I have been to LL several times and at different times of the year. Suggest going in April/May which had the most stuff on the reef. Good input above so i will only add that Black Manta is a "class act" and have used them many times and will use them again but they are not the same as staying at the LL resort. Very difference experience...i am not saying better or worse...just different.

Does anyone know the DM to divers ratio, and how early is the first dive at LLIR?
From the resort, we had one guide for 12 guests. Not a good ratio but the dive sites are huge.

We have had dive briefing at 8am or even 7:30am... There would be a light breakfast before & then a full breakfast after the 1st dive...

Wow I have been so excited about possibly booking for LL, but the return flights really seem really steep by MAL standards. This means I have to get to KL, then KL to KK, then KK to LL. All add up to quite a lot.

Try AirAsia. They're a budget airline, but not much difference (compared with MAS) for such a short flight. the KK-LL flight IS expensive. alternative's a boat ride, but it'll take too looooooooooong.

I completely agree with Dreamdivergirl. I dove LL 2 years ago(with report posted on this forum) and it is still the finest diving I've ever done. 3 dive days typically, with night diving around the jetty available for the truly keen. It is deep (30-40m) for the first two, then a more shallow dive in the afternoon. Long surface intervals (2hrs+) and good food.

Saw schools of hammers, 1 thresher, mantas almost every day and more small stuff than you can shake a camera at. I've heard that the numbers of hammers has waned in recent years, but still well worth the trip, and certainly better than sipadan.

Hi, the flights are RM930 (for non-Malaysians). This is for the return flight from BKI - LLIR.

How much for Malaysians.

I have been to LL several times and at different times of the year. Suggest going in April/May which had the most stuff on the reef.

What kind of pelagics can be seen July/August

Is it best to book flight from BKI-LLIR and Resort together or separately
