Hi everyone. My son and I got certified recently and I am about to pull the trigger on 2x Cressi packages that includes Air Travel BCD, T10-SC regulator, ellipse octo, and Leonardo C2 computer. We are in NE and will be diving in NJ, CT, etc. Any comments on the selection, is it OK for cold water? I was originally looking at Aqualung Legend, but their prices are considerably higher.

Thanks everyone.

Cressi regulators and computers are of low grade based on my experience with their equipment in our school. Aqualung is far superior in performance and reliability.

thank you

Thirded. An aqualung Titan/Core is cheaper than a legend, I'd say you'd not notice any difference between it and a legend. Cressi make some nice freediving/spear diving stuff, the rest not, so much.

Cressi like to add the word "master" to their gear. Pin a tail on it, it's still a donkey.

With good reasons.
Make sure it uses standard hose rather than QD.
A sealed 1st stage is better than non-sealed version in cold water.
Alternatively, Deep 6.

As for BCD, how about the simple BP/W package offer by DGX at $299.00?

Stupid question, what is a QD hose?

As far as BCD I was thinking Aqualung PRO HD. I will look into DGX though.

salt water diving in New England and Jersey, no option for a SS plate? I don't care cheap it is, that's the wrong rig....

@ak1 the QD *quick disconnect* hose basically allows the second stage to work like your power inflator. It's not really a useful feature, and for recreational diving is something I would steer quite far away from

Is that such a big deal to carry extra 2kg on the weight belt?
