Hello all,

My friends and I will be doing a Rainbow River dive on 2/13/16. I have never been to this location but do anticipate a nice, relaxing dive with a small chance of finding sunken treasure. We will be using the American Pro dive shop to shuttle us up River.

I am excited to get some more use on my new Aqualung gear. Can others provide comments on their own experience at this dive site and what to expect.

Thank you

Its a fun dive.... I also went out with American Pro a few years ago. The river isn't very wide, but it is very clear. I don't think you'll find treasure or fossils like you might in the Cooper river in the Carolinas. Most of the dive is quite shallow: under 10 feet. There are a couple of spots where you can drop down to 20 feet into holes or indentations in the river floor. The river is spring fed so you'll see places on the river floor where the springs bubble up the sand: its kind of a neat sight. I saw several fresh water fish varieties, sometimes people see fresh water turtles, a buddy saw a small alligator while kayaking on it. Here's some other reviews:

Get Capt. Phil if you can, reminds me of Aaron Kaufman on "Fast & Loud". Great shop to go out with and we just got back from there last weekend. Nice drift dive and as stated rather shallow for the most part, but there are areas where you can get do to 20+ feet. Right toward the end where American Pro pull you out there is also a small cavern you can go into. It was really cool.

Besides the bass, bream, bowfin, there was one area where there were a number of gar. Pleasant dive.

I did this dive about 3 months ago. Very relaxing dive.
