A team of divers of the Argentinean institute of archeology has discovered eights wrecks of archaeological importance in San Jorge Gulf, Argentina. One of the wrecks is that of Potosí, a five-masted steel sailing ship built in Germany in 1895, which at the time used to be the longest sailing ship of the world (a total hull length of 122 metres). The ship sank in 1925 about 5 mils off the Patagonian coast, as a result of uncontrolled fire.

For the press article see Descubren siete naufragios históricos en el Golfo San Jorge. It's in Spanish and it includes a short videoclip.

For the Potosí see Potosi (barque) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

that's cool, and a pretty lucky find bearing in mind the size of the area they were searching
