I would not leave it in your car if you can avoid it, but can be left in the garage with no problem. Remember that storage preferences for all tanks are to be stored vertical not horizontal, and aluminum tanks that are going to be stored for any length of time should be drained almost completely
 
It is a good idea to strap the tank to a wall, or something solid, to insure it stays upright. Treat a pressurized tank like the bomb that it is.

So should aluminum tanks not be stored with pressure in them? I've always heard you shuold store with some pressure to help keep moisture at bay. Not true?
 
in what? vertical is preferable for storage, but for transporting horizontal is usually easier. Something as simple as a few pool noodles cut up with a hole drilled across for a knotted rope *think ladder* is what most people will do for a couple of tanks. For the amount that we carry, we just lay the first row all the way across the vehicle and start stacking
