Just wanted to let you all know about the opportunities Nicaragua has to offer. Not only are the Corn islands an absolute delight and relatively undiscovered, we have started diving some of the Volcanic Craters as well which is an unique experience!

I absolutely loved the Corn Islands. Well worth the effort of getting to. Where are the volcanic craters? Are there dive shops nearby, or do you need to bring all of your equipment with you? I'd be interested to hear more details.

At the moment there are two lagunas that we use to dive in. One is Laguna de Apoyo, an easy to access national park, between Granada and Masaya, which has multiple options for accommodation, food etc. Here we have our dive center, you do not need to bring any gear!

The other lake is Laguna de Xiloa, which is situated northwest of Managua. This place does not have any accommodations but the diving is excellent. Big variety of fish and big walls going down in the depths. We do have access to one of the houses that is used as a research facility to do overnight trips or we can do it as a day trip as well
