What type of twinsets are those? D12?

If so, those guys ought to be some 6-7kg negative with full tanks, in which case I guess a little excess air in the suit shouldn't matter to much :)

Closing the drysuit zipper is also a recommended thing to do.

It's so fun watching "that guy" that jumps in with it open "just a little". Amazing how much water can come through a slightly open zipper "instantly".

Is it just me, or is it always the mouthy expert on board that this happens to?
 
Old, old, old joke when we're suiting up:

"Zip me up?"
"Sure, how big an opening do you want? 5cm fine?"
 
The best advice I got from the GUE drysuit course was to always look at the end of the zipper and make sure it's closed. Completely closed. Seems obvious, but I wasn't doing that and the instructor spotted it. And I have remarkably fewer leaks now.
