Invest in quality training and then follow it.
Your OW instructor should have impressed upon you the dangers involved in diving while she/he taught you how to mitigate those dangers.
"Deco For Divers" is the best text I have found about this subject. It did a wonderful job of showing me deficiencies and errors in what I thought I knew and it also did a great job of revealing to me how theoretical decompression theory truly is.
With that being said, at this point in my diving...
I agree. I am all for honoring Wes, his huge contributions across the sport of diving and his conservation efforts etc. but renaming Peacock after him seems a little strange. It also seems odd that the majority of people have never heard about this idea until now. Why exclude a group of people...

Looks like some posts happened between me reading and replying to this thread. It looks like we have reached the conclusion that 245 degrees is our target and that is not happening.

Great thread, thank you for sharing. From the sound of it you prepared properly for your plan and your dive. What you did not plan or prepare for was choosing to bail out someone else (let alone two other people). Ultimately, some people can't turn off their team diving instincts even if they...
Proper fit is my priority when it comes to masks so I must try on any mask before I buy it. My local dive shop proved to be very helpful with this. I walked in with my prescription and tried on masks until I found the one that fit my face and accepted prescription lenses. Then the salesman...
People and their emotions are more complex than your simplistic statement. Tell my grandparents that Johnny Carson or Elvis Presley are not worthy of your love or hate.
Bundle up and make sure to have something that will stop the wind for your top layer. Wear a knit hat! Just like your mother always said, you lose most of your heat out of your head.
If you feel the need to brave the deeper colder water then make the second half of your dive shallow so that you...
