Interested to see what you find out on the skull. Nice closeup of the Astrometis sertulifera. I was in So Cal recently for a few dives in Santa Cruz Island. Hope to get the report and pictures posted up before I head to Poor Knights Island, NZ at the end of this month. Missing you and Merry...

    Life returning?

Wow Merry! That Limacia cockerelli is mindblowing! Lovely Polycera tricolor, great pose on him! Happy New Year! Glad to hear the "life" is showing signs of coming back. My dives at Marineland last month were very nudi lacking. Only the occasional Shawl was seen.

Diving Thailand in October: Koh Tao "Gulf" or Phuket "Andaman Sea"

Have a trip planned to Thailand for October 10th-22nd. I want to spend 3-5 days scuba diving / kayaking / snorkeling. My partner coming with is not certified and I want her to have as plenty of opportunities to enjoy the water as I do scuba diving. What would be the best option given my dates...

    Super Grouper

Charlie is still in So Cal, steaming ahead hard as ever in Physical Therapist School. I've accepted a Deputy position up here in Billings County. We surround the National Park and do a lot of resource enforcement, EMS, Fire as well as your run of the mill community services. It's like a LE...

    Second Annual British Columbia Trek

Caught quite a few poachers with night decoys but haven't got to shoot any yet :-) It looks like I'll be working up here for the time being but I'm planning a trip that will hopefully get my gills wet for the end of October. My new position should allow me the funds and off-time to venture back...

Get Back to Where You Once Belonged: Marineland The Garden Solo Dive 11.18.14

Thanks Merry! Yes, they are an incredible critter to shoot. One of my favorites as well. Yeah, I was very surprised to see him out in the open as well. Kind of startled me at first because I'm so unused to seeing them out and about, or at all. Can't wait to catch up and explore some new...

From the Badlands of Theodore Roosevelt National Park To the Cool Embrace of the Big Blue It has been 10 months since I've dove the Garden and the last time I was here I found my first Fringehead. I wanted to get some more shutter time with these photogenic little guys and was lucky...

Although it's the Fall, it seems like Spring.

I observed a mating pair of giant kelpfish guarding a nest on the 18th at Marineland on the Palos Verdes peninsula. Was surprised to see them doing so late in the season. Thanks for the info:)
