    1st stage

For me it's quite clear an Aqualung Calypso/ Aquarius 1st, '94-97' model or a clone of that model, because the cap is a bit different with it's riffles to what I remember. Everything else is exact that model, so I guess it might be the last model of those Calypso/Aquarius, that's why it shows on...

    La Spirotechnique single hose

The reason was probably that their 'Fenzys' had the corrugated inflator hose on the right side. Until 1980 all single hose 2nds of Spiro came from the left. From 1980-1982 some models had the hose connector on the right side, probably for American market where the 'Fenzys' had the inflator hose...

How to remove rust / Verdigris in regulators

Yes, the spring scratched the chrome surface, and the ultrasound cleaner removed it, so you're down to brass.....

A Reg Service Racket in Australia

Yes, okay, I promise I will never ever again complain about the super boring one-day Level 2 SP Technician Course I have to attend every two years for now 130,- bugs. I was always sure that is a rip off.......

    Oasis 2 srb3700

Looks like there are still Service Kits for the SRB3700 available, Order Number 4000-15 If you don't use the reg often and it is stored well, why don't you just give it to a shop for check? There are hardly any parts which degrade in two years when just laying in the closet.

Scubapro AIR2 5th gen demand lever

Seems that until the 4th generation the lever was the ....009... parts, but the 5th. generation lever has a different part number ...090.... Shouldn't be difficult for a SP Dealer to get you one...

    SP R190 Beauty

Sorry guys! Almost missed this one, but was lucky. A 1997 R190 'Blue Dream' (produced in '96), never touched water, and definitely will not as long I own it. I have a couple of these, but this 'brand new' one is of course special. It's a real beauty, isn't it?

Aqualung Mistral - can't disassemble second stage (similar to Calypso 2nd stage)

Right, Bob, forgot about this model..... Anyway, I got me the Scubaclinic tool to try for these cases, but it's a disappointment, it's too short, no stability with the Alan Key inserted. The 'tools' I built me for this work much better, because with the 'tool' fixed in a vise, you can work much...

Aqualung Mistral - can't disassemble second stage (similar to Calypso 2nd stage)

What Mistral 2nd stage that is similar to a Cressi XS 2nd?!! The Mistral '2nds' have been always DH AFAIK...........

    Question setting XTX40 lever vertical

For me the old Apeks TX-ATX and XTX 2nds have a clear design flaw. The guiding of the barrel is much too weak (soft). That's why you are only allowed to tighten the heat exchanger with ridicolous 3Nm-2,2lb/ft. If anybody before has tightened it a bit too much, there is hardly any way to tighten...

Musing on a winter afternoon - special use regulators

For decades I loved to do Deep Air Dives in warm waters from time to time (max. 60 -100 m -200 - 330 feet). I did about 60 of these dives and for me worked best for that purpuse my SP MK20- 25 - D350, whose breathing comfort ( of course especially the D350s) was extremely good at depth. My first...

    Rusty C370 sleeve

I suspected rust in the tank as the culprit for this particular problem, because the plastic threads were covered with very fine rust and because it seemed to me it was much too much rust dust there. Normally, if the metal parts are attacked by (salt) water (or dirt with rests of salt water), it...

Scubapro Balanced Adjustable - have you seen this version?

I think I have a couple of the ones with the finer texture, they are usually the older ones. but they are anyway often a bit different or just well used.

Scubapro Balanced Adjustable - have you seen this version?

Interesting find! I've never seen a 156 without CE Stamp, but my ones are from later than '95. Thanks for showing!

Scubapro Balanced Adjustable - have you seen this version?

You are right, just found one of these 109er with a 5 in the beginning. My 109 from yesterday had a 4 in the beginning (1974) and another with already the D-Clip started with 45, so also 1974 I guess, so I thought it might have been produced only in 1974, but seems that is not true. My 1st...

Scubapro Balanced Adjustable - have you seen this version?

AFAIK the first109 models used roll pins to secure the adjustment knob. In 1974 the 109er got a slot and a thin clip because there had been too many complains about the roll pin, which got easy bent when installed or lost ( actually there were announced two slots and a clip, but I only have the...
