I did do the dive...BUT...water was clear out until knee deep then it got very murky...probably due to red tide...several dead fish in the water and on shore's edge...didn't have cough issue but eyes were burning a lot more than usual in salt water... so I got out...did get a shot on a teeny...
I probably will not find many fossils but I hope to do some shallow water photography at the park tomorrow...no red tide there anyway at least not when I drove by today. Would be great to see others there.
I have been giving this a lot of thought and have decided not to post a map on social media. Even though I have no intention of showing specific critter location, anyone could take a basemap such as I want to create and add specific locations to it and then post it.
I totally agree...I am just thinking of the outsiders like myself that spend thousands of dollars to come to this bridge for a couple days of photography and have no clue where to even start.
Yes I did see her for an instant last Thursday on a guided night dive but we didn't stop for a visit. just a quick glance on the way by. I have no intention of mapping any specific critter locations...just the bottom terrain where you might be likely to find photo ops. I totally agree with you...
I spent today with a slate trying to figure out the best tools and methods to use to map these features. Understand I am only doing this for macrophotography purposes and to give new-to-the-site diver photographers an idea of where the critters might be hiding out. This is all eyeballed, nothing...
Thank you for your input. That is a good idea. I can pace off the pillars walking down the sidewalk and looking over the side and walking across the street. I can at least use the outer pillars and sidewalls as reference when down below. I don't care about accuracy...just a visual reference I...
I just like to draw up my own underwater maps for future reference showing where I find those special critters such as lionfish, morays and octopus...I will probably end up doing that.
I plan to do a dive under the East bridge Monday am 4/18/22. I have only been under the bridge once, recently on a guided night dive. I have no clue where I went. Does anyone have a very basic map showing the pillars and major landmarks under the bridge?
