None of the DeWalt cases I use have any rust on the buckles, although only one has been exposed to salt water and just a couple times. I like your sticker idea, I might have to do that as well.
Nice work. Why sand off the logo though, I love the look I get when I wip out my Dewalt reg case on the dive boat!
I put foam inside mine instead of reg bag. I found it gave me a little more room, and made it is easier to get stuff in and out.
The place where you get your 52.5mm lenses cut, would they be able to do a 54mm? And then I could just buy it off you.
That sounds like a pretty intense vacation, 14 dives in 3.5 days sounds tiring.
It's a year later, and 350xfire was right about the lens. I was at 125ft in 36 F water on the weekend, and she imploded! It was pretty damn loud. Funny thing is, the light continued to work. So now I am on the hunt for a new lens, and am wondering where I might get a custom 3/16 boro lens at a...
Looks great, especially for only having a small lathe and not a full machine shop to make it with. Is it only the o-ring from Note A and water pressure keeping the glass in place? That frightens me a little, but I guess it must work.

I started a thread on DIY Examples awhile ago to give people some ideas of what can be made, and in the hopes of getting more ideas as to what I can make myself. So feel free to add to it once you start making stuff...
I don't see why this idea will not work. Although I would be concerned that only having it hand tight, it might turn out slightly during a dive. I threaded the bottom of my canister, (because I used pvc tube instead of solid delrin) and I put two holes in the bottom for a tool to tighten it...
I don't if this will help you or not, but instead of ankle wieghts I added 2 pounds to each of my fins when I made adapters for my spring straps fit my drysuit boots. I made them out of 1/2 Stainless I had at work.
I have used PVC drainage pipe, then made Delrin plugs for the ends. One threaded and non-removable, the other removable for batter access.
Here in North America I use Sabic Polymershapes for my delrin, and PVC you can get at pluming/hardware stores.
I don't think I'll be selling this one anytime soon, it was just a prototype. If I do start producing them they'll cost a bit more than $250, due to the fact that the materials would not longer be free to free. Thanks for the offer though.
