Way back about (I hate to admit it) 30 years ago. We were out from St Simons Island Ga. We were told that a old German sub had been sunk out there during WW2. Including the snout it was about 5 feet long.
2) Water separator failure (or more likely a failure to bleed it often enough) at the fill station. I have never seen this happen but I've heard of it happening. As a user there's not a thing you can do to prevent this except to pick the right fill station.
Rick is correct. A few years ago I...
I'll just have to go with the two that I think are the best. Liquid Blue http://liquidbluedivers.com/ and Aldora http://www.aldora.com/
They are a little more expensive but the steel tanks and quality certainly make up for it. Good luck.
One of the factors you should consider is safety. Aside from all the knocked/dropped hazards, the potential energy in a full cylinder is tremendous. They should be stored upright with a minimum of pressure. Heaven forbid that you have a fire but the heat generated by even a small fire can...
I hear this occasionally. I tell folks to reheat the SeaCure and smooth the bottom and outside of the mouthpiece. I learned on mne because the back rubbing my cheek.
I believe that's only about $20.00 over cost. That covers shipping. Are these about to go out of hydro or something? Maybe they are moving them because they've been in inventory too long?
You mention migrane and/or stress headaches. A few years ago I had those type of headaches a lot. I've actually cut short dives because of them. I lost 105 LBS. in divorce court and haven't had one since!
Had a situation much like yours once except several people on the boat had the same complaint. We called DAN and after much discussion they decided the CO2 content of the tank "may" have been excessive. Next day same boat and dive group no problems.
Liquid Blue ( http://www.liquidbluedivers.com/ ) or Aldora ( http://www.Aldora.com/ ) are my favorites. Roberto with Liquid Blue and Dave with Aldora really are concerned about their Customers. Good luck and have a safe trip.
DandyDon is right and I learned my lesson but. Who would have thought they could steal such a big bag. I get the insurance now and usually the agent puts an extra tag regarding the insurance on the bag and it gets through.
RE TSA our mis-adventures with them, and us not knowing BS when its in...
Had most of my gear stolen in Miami once. If you have the reciepts send them in with your claim. It will expedite the resolution of your claim. BTW since mine was an International flight I got $750.00 for a couple thousand dollars worth of gear.
1) I started with a spare air and figured out it would maybe be good for an ESA and that's it. I tried a 6 with a Sherwood minimus and small pressure guage. Finally figured out a 13 with the regulator was about the same. Been using a 13 for a few years now.
2) Check the airline and TSA...
Take it back to the LDS and have the repair tech check it out. Be real sure you have them break down your primary second stage. Even if "there's nothing in the hose" the second stage still needs to be looked at carefully. Pertoleum oils are not good for some of the other parts. Breath it before...
I work in a Dive Shop and I assure that if our owner or Manager saw something like this the offender would have been gone in about 1 minute. That clerk has certainly never repaired regulators or tried to fix a BC that's been handled roughly. Since I work on most of the equipment at the Shop I'd...
A couple of items since I get to play tired diver a lot during certification tests:
Well rested and well hydrated for everything you are going to do. Some cheap energy is available in the "power bars." Don't eat and get in the water give them an hour or so to get into your system. For myself...
Texas Diver has it right. I did have one November trip canceled because the airline wasn't willing to fly into a Hurricane, believe or not. Another time had the port closed because a Hurricane supposed to come by and we were restricted to spending or dive money on Whiskey. Think about trip...
