Everything I seen (including the instruction manual) describes how to manually switch the device to dive mode before starting a dive. Question - if you don't do that, will it automatically go into dive mode at a certain depth?
That's pretty much how I feel about it. I've been looking to replace my D6i with something that's more user friendly in the battery department, but I want to stick with something that can be used like a regular watch. I have no real interest in AI because I've had it for years and rarely use it...
While not a requirement, it's fairly common to backdate a VIP stamp so that it expires at the same time as the next hydro. It's done more to avoid confusion by the owner than anything else, and you obviously only do it when the hydro expires within the next 12 months.
Although I've filled...
When I went, roughly half the boat dove dry and the other half dove wet. The wet half were making fun of us at the beginning of the week, but that didn't last long. By the end of the week, we were standing around waiting for them to pull on their cold wetsuits under the hot shower.

If you can pass the medical, you're not too old to give it a try. I've dived with several very competent divers in their 70's, and know of one local person who is 86 and still shore dives every week.
I became a DM in NJ and then eventually moved elsewhere. This is my experience...
Diving in Canada is much more challenging than in the crystal clear Caribbean, plus the course takes longer because of the weather. This would make you a better DM.
On the other hand, you'll be lucky to find a...
I've been using Apple computers since before it was cool to do so. Back then, they could easily do things that were really difficult on a PC so it was essential for my work. Now I'm in a cult...
I do like my iPhone. It's 3 years old now, but it still does everything I need it to do.
I have a TLSSE and highly recommend it. The big benefit of the shoulder entry (that's what SE means) is that you don't have all of the excess material hanging off you during the dive because they don't require the telescoping torso. This makes them more streamlined and also lighter in general if...
They have a presence, but you would be best to avoid it if at all possible. I paid in advance for a week of diving with them and seriously regretted it by day 2.
I don't think there are any NAUI affiliated shops in Brisbane. There are a few PADI and a couple of SSI, and they are a distance apart geographically. Do you know where you'll be staying when you're here? That will help narrow it down some.
