ScubaPro 'Go" vs. Aqua Lung Zuma for Travel BC

I have a Cressi Travel Light, and I’m very happy with it. I bought it because I travel thousands of miles every year where I want to minimise the weight and volume. It is foldable with lock straps and can be packed in its own soft bag the size of a supermarket shopping plastic bag so you can...

    Dive Resorts in Anilao

We would of course like a white beach the likes of Malapascua, but we can live with less as long as we are close to the water. By the looks of it BruceoFilipinas would fulfil the beach requirement.

    Dive Resorts in Anilao

Thank’s Guys. Yes you are right to be more specific; the price level we are expecting is around USD1500 for10 days. We would like to be near the beach in a resort which has restaurant/bar, dive shop, accommodation with aircon and can provide the dive guide and also have nitrox. If they can...

    Scubapro MK17/C300 or Mk11/R195

I had MK11 - R195 as my first reg set-up, and as many here says it is not a good combo with 1 stage as balanced and 2nd stage as simple downstream. Don't buy such a combo you will regret it sooner rather than later. I changed to MK17 - S600 after 6 dives and wooow what a difference. My better...

Planning a trip to the Philippines - but where to go?

Welcome to scubaboard. There are a lotof good dive sites on the Philippines, concentrating on the Visyas area as youare flying to (and from) Cebu, then I will suggest the following doing a 'roundtrip': First you go to Malapasqua Island, that's a couple of hours travel from CebuCity and the...

    BCD failure at 100 feet

Great post. You had a bottom to rest on what if you had been on wall dive with a 1000ft to the bottom and you beging to plunge rapidly? I think I will consider to add a lift bag or similar to my standard equipment for wall dives and the likes.

    Which fins??

I'm one of those who prefer fullfoot fins due to the comfort these offer. Mares Avanti Superchanel is my favorite, as they are fairly compact which makes them good for air travels, however if you if you are happy with the Quattro fins then go for for Mares Avanti Quattro Power fullfoot version...

A Good 1st Time Philippine Dive Trip?

Ardy, Yes your partner can do some good snorkling with Mike's in Dauin. There are good snorkling sites from the white beach at Apo Island and if you get a trip to Sumilon Island, about an hour and a half east of Dauin by boat, there you should be able to snorkel with juventile whale sharks they...

SE Asia early September - mixed ability group

I would say the Philippines. The Phils. have a very good and developed dive industry. As mentioned Malapasqua would be a good choise, dive operators are; Sea-Explorer, Thresher Shark Divers, SeaQuest, amongst others. They all either have or can help you with accommodations transportations etc...

New Diver -- Lessons Learned -- Nassau

As you say, you know pretty well what you (and Son) should have done, and you found out how frustrating it can be when you and your buddy are too far from each other when you need to communicate. Well lessons learnt. One thing I would suggest is that you get your own equipment including a...
