    Plymouth Dive Spots ?

I don't know any dive site names there in Plymouth, but I can tell you that the bay (cove??) area adjacent (1/4 - 1/2 miles offshore?) to the Plymouth nuclear power plant proved fruitful and interesting on my first ever post-c-card dive a few years ago. To my shock, glee, and...

Charlotte diving? Private instructor for refresher?

Do you know Charlotte well? Are you a certified instructor? I am going to be in Charlotte for the next three weeks for work and I'm interested in locating someone who is familiar with decent dive sites (lake/river) in the area (if they exist) AND, ideally, is a cert. instructor. My new job is...

    Yellow nasal discharge?

Wow! Hadn't looked at this post in some time . . . thanks for the replies--and to think that all these CRACKS on me would be construed as egg on my face is simply ridiculous. My opinion is: humor at ANY cost! FYI, there was no pain associated with this at all--I experienced the discharge...

One day to dive in San Diego . . .

Hi - Coming in from Boston in a few weeks and only have one day to dive. I've only got 10 dives under my belt so not looking for anything crazy. Also looking for something that's a reasonable distance (i.e. 15 minutes by cab) from downtown (won't have a car). If you could only pick ONE dive...

    Asthma anyone?

Hey Paddles - I have asthma as well--asthma which, due to my meds, is 100% under control. So that would be my question to you: how well do you know your disease? For me, if I was how I used to be, I'm not 100% certain diving would be something I'd risk. How are you in otherwise stressful...

    Asthma question

If you're an asthmatic, as I am, you know (or should know) your disease well enough to know if you should be diving--or not. For me, my asthma is completely under control via medication, so I am completely comfortable diving. Like diverlady, I had my doc sign off on it for my cert, but...

    Celebrities who dive

Because he can't sign autographs underwater, of course. Really, I'm quite sure that's one of the reasons he took it up. He dives with good friend Mark O'Meara and caddy Steve Williams. A day of diving and golfing with Tiger is tough to beat fantasy-wise. Regarding astronauts...

    What's on your Bumper?

VT (Euro-caps type, for Vermont) I'd rather be driving a Titleist Double-black diamond Sunday River stickers (ski resort in Maine) Nomah!#5 (Nomar Garciaparra, Boston Red Sox) I Love the Sox 2002 (jinxed myself) Dive Flag Bee + Postivie (from oddtodd.com--great site!) My wife hates me...

    Bringing Back Liquor

My advice would be to do whatever the hell you want and if you get caught, cross that bridge when you come to it. You're a diver for chrissakes--live a little! Shrug your shoulders--"Oh, only two liters? Geez, sorry officer, I thought it was four . . . " Unless you're a major jackass...

    Windows sucks?

Best advice thus far is the defrag idea . . . Not that I'm the biggest Windows fan, but in all honesty, it's probably NOT Win causing the slow descent into scubaboard, nor is it scubaboard's servers . . . bmuise, I'm betting you've just got some virtual memory issues or something. Do you...

    NELD get together - 28-Nov

Hi all - Really enjoy the board, and would love to meet some of you. Any thoughts of having a get together closer to (if not in) Boston proper? If there are enough posts indicating interest, I'll organize it myself! Cheers.

    camping in florida keys?

Not sure what sort of experience your up for, but if you really want to spice up the nightlife of your dive/camping trip--and do it very inexpensively, consider Jabour's campground, which is the ONLY campsite on Key West proper, and literally a 2-minute walk to Duval St. You could drive the 1/2...

    I made a mistake.

Hi Dan - Just a quick side note about asthma & meds. I'm a relatively new diver myself & very comfortable with the meds I take for allergies & asthma, and in the dives I've made thus far haven't had any issues whatsoever. You or (more likely) your wife may want to consider a combination of...

    Your First Car....

Was given to me for free by my aunt. Had it in high school. Navy blue, got about 5 MPG and broke down every few days. Grateful Dead sticker on the back, amongst others (you know the Eagles tune . . . ). Total piece of junk . . . and I loved it.

    New Orleans Diving

Hi everyone - I'll be visiting and hope to dive in New Orleans shortly after the new year. I've read a few posts that mentioned dive sites are a good two hours or so from downtown. Just thought I'd get a locals perspective--are there quarries, lakes, reservoirs that are divable in the area...

Adrian from Ocean Spirit in Cairns?

Hi all - I recently got my c-card primarily based on my intro resort dive on the GBR 2 summers ago. Our instructor was great. It was just the Adrian, me and my wife. He emailed us after the trip with some dive info but I've since lost his email. I'd love to email him and let him know that he is...
