Those tanks are worthless, just let me know where to pick them up :)
Bubbletrouble is exactly right, switch your first stage to DIN and carry a yoke converter just in case, well worth the expense given the fact you got two free tanks out of the deal.
I call bull****. I have never heard of such a thing, the most they could do is put some kind of stipulation that they would not cover diving related accidents but I have never even heard of that.
I have a high risk job and have never been denied any insurance I have ever applied for and have...
A couple of thoughts.....
Among the tech divers in my circle there are two primary computers, x1's and predators. x1 is smaller and lighter, single color display that rotates through the information you need. The predator is larger, more heavy but has a multi color display and shows more...
Actually it is only drowning if you die within 24 hours. If you survive it is called near drowning.
"When to call" is primairly dependant on the rescue resources. If I call 911 in the area I work the county can put divers in the water, but it usually takes at least an hour, and the county...
Kinda depends on your build. At 6-2 240 I love mine diving dry. Shorter tanks like HP 100's I feel more head heavy, and the longer tanks are easier for me to get on and off (they are tall enough to rest them on the bench when I am putting them on)
Plus whatever for the one peice harness. Try it. It will work for you. I have a bad shoulder and was going to try a rig with a buckle but decided after alot of sugestions from others to try the one peice rig. It is great, I am sure it will serve your well.
I have never really noticed any. I have dove all over the east end and all along the west coast. There might be a site with a big current somewhere but I have not run across it.
If you are coming on a ship, do eden rock/devils grotto. They are right there at the docks and VERY easy diving. You can get gear right at Eden Rock dive center and walk into the water down a set of stairs.
Water temps are about 79 in summer and about 78 in winter.
To the OP, there is a...
To the OP, this was a good question any you got some good advise.
To Techintime, find me a diver that has had the problem you describe. Drysuit boots are stiffer so you get more foot protection. Walking on ice was uncomfortable with wetsuit booties so I switched. No other reason.
With all due respect, you don't know what you are talking about. Alot of divers use wetsuit boots, including several public safety divers I know. This is a non-issue, just like the feet first runnaway ascent. If you don't know how to get out of that position, please have someone show you...
I, like alot of people it looks like, am intersted in the tanks, if you decide to split this up. Or I will give you $650 for the whole lot and then re-list all the stuff I don't need :)
OP seems a little too interested in the pictures. Spearing/knifing pics are frequently used people who may not have the best interests of the underwater hunting community at heart. Not saying that is the case here, but just a thought before anyone posts pics of stuck fish.
We deal with imposters all the time in law enforcement. They are almost all suffering from mental illness. I would not engage this guy, he is clearly not all there.
I have a Bare Nex-Gen bi-lam. They are inexpensive as drysuits go and I like mine.
I prefer back zip, it is easier for me to get on and off. I can zip it myself if I have to, but that is what buddies are for.
Use the suit as is until the seals start to go bad, then upgrade. That will...
I dived a cobra on my rec single tank rig. I can hear the alarm for MOD violation but I have never noticed a low preasure alarm, I don't know if that is because I don't pay attention to it or because it doesn't work. The MOD alarm is pretty constant until you ascend.
As you mentioned...
