Closed Shearwater Transmitter MH8A (Grey and Yellow)

This is for a pair of Shearwater MH8A transmitters. These are compatible with Shearwater, Aeris, Oceanic, Hollis, Aqua Lung, Sherwood, and Tusa air integrated computers that use the MH8A transmitter. Both of them were recently serviced and in great working condition - I checked today. Each have...

What's in the pipeline for Shearwater?

Quick question for you folks! I've been a loyal customer for many years (Predator, Petrel, and even a nice Petrel 2) and I've been toying with upgrading to the Perdix. We have a big family of divers, so it won't go completely to waste. I have a big trip lined up for early 2020 and was just...

Pair of Oceanic Atom 3.0 Packages w/ Transmitter and USB Data Cable

The first watch sold (NOT for $365). I think the current price is an incredibly competitive deal given the transmitter and data cable. I'll also throw in an extra transmitter battery free of charge. One watch left, please PM if interested. Thanks!

Pair of Oceanic Atom 3.0 Packages w/ Transmitter and USB Data Cable

Greetings! I am selling a pair of Oceanic Atom 3.0 dive computer packages, which include the transmitter, USB data cable, and extension strap. They are both very lightly used, but in phenomenal condition, especially the screens. Batteries recently replaced. One is a Blue model (88 dives with 78...

found a zeagle regulator and pony bottle in Cozumel reefs

I lost one on Santa Rosa about a week and a half ago - popped loose from the edge of the boat when we were approaching the wall. We figured it was off the edge, but hopefully not! It would look just like the one linked above, but it had a yellow miflex hose.

    Oceanic VT 4.1 vs. OCS

I will never go back to a non-AI computer. Being able to look at my wrist and see everything is really convenient. I have had the computer lose connection with the transmitter for a few seconds during a dive, but it never lasts for more than a few seconds and is essentially a non-issue. I really...

    Oceanic VT 4.1 vs. OCS

It all depends on whether you want a small, standard watch sized computer, or a larger pure dive computer. If you are okay with a smaller computer, you may also want to consider the Atom 3.0. Whlie I like the dot matrix display on the OC1, the compass is marginal and I don't know if the display...

Has anyone stayed in the Aldora Villas?

I think ScubaBird is referring to the general rule that most ops follow: when the first diver in the group is low on air, they buddy breathe with the DM. When the second diver in the group is low on air, the group goes up. So, in reality, you aren't limited by the biggest air hog in the group...

Has anyone stayed in the Aldora Villas?

Stayed there in the past and will be there in a few days. Favorite spot to stay / dive!

Dropping it down to $300 + shipping just to get rid of it.

Oceanic Veo 3.0 with Compass / SPG

I'm selling my Oceanic Veo 3.0. It's been lightly used (less than 30 dives) and is in great shape. It is less than two years old. I've recently had it serviced with the rest of my gear at ScubaToys and had a new battery installed. The screen is in perfect shape with no scratches under the screen...

New Mac OS X Dive App

I have a request. Is there any way to automatically add units? I have it set to imperial, but it shows my depth as 80.02 with no units. I know I can type it ft or lbs, but it would be great if it was automatic (or mentioned in the header). Thanks!

Larger Tanks for deep dives (100ft)

I would go one step further and say it NEVER constitutes a safety problem.

Depth Limits for SSI OW Cert?

There really aren't limits, per say. More strong "suggestions." Even the PADI open water 60' limit is a suggestion for OW divers, with the only limitations being placed on training dives (go figure). It will really depend on the comfort level of the dive op and you.

I have Asthma and I want to Scuba dive!

If you have medical clearance from your allergist, why not try some confined water dives and see how you do? There isn't much harm in giving it a shot from 7 feet under.

    Best Value for Dollar...

Or at the very least, 3 among two buddies. Since I do more diving than my significant other, I wear the extra computer. The thought is that on a liveaboard, if your dive computer bails on you, you are probably out the rest of the day and the rest of the trip can be difficult, especially if you...

Death at the Blue Hole in Belize

You are essentially saying the same thing - a hypoglycemic incident that causes a loss of consciousness = insulin shock. Essentially, he would have had to inject himself with too much insulin causing him to become profoundly hypoglycemic and lose consciousness. Also, he wouldn't have had to...

I have Asthma and I want to Scuba dive!

Read the PADI medical release: This is written in giant bold print millimeters above where you sign. I'm fairly sure that any jury trial would side with a dive operator if you have signed a statement like that. If you can provide any evidence whatsoever that a diver who knowingly had a...

I have Asthma and I want to Scuba dive!

For arguments sake, I assume you are trying to say that the dive shop would have refused him anyway (as opposed to the physician). This is my big problem with how dive ops do their medical waivers today. More and more, individuals are losing their ability to make a decision for themselves. I...
