    Refresher Courses

I'm sorry I can't help you with a dive shop suggestion in Yakima, but I'm a recently transplanted Floridian living in Seattle now. I used to work in a dive shop in Florida and I have to say that Evergreen Dive Service in Everett is very well run local dive shop. I think it might be worth it to...

    Any vis reports?

I was out there last week and it seems to hold steady at a good 30' vis when you get below ten feet. Let me know if you wanna dive, I'm a new Florida to Seattle transplant looking for dive buddies. Have fun out there!

Northern Florida's best of the best?

I don't know for how far you are taking a cab but if possible, definitely rent a car or SUV. Florida is a very long state from north to south. I'm from north Florida but for someone's first time in Florida I would reccomend taking a trip down to the keys. A lot of travel but the keys are...

Cool Story! Divers in Labrador discover WWII aircraft Its just amazing how much there is still to discover diving wise in Newfoundland and Labrador!

    Off Jacksonville in September?

Yeh theres not too many Jax divers around here... In September, the water temp should still be hovering just below 80 or so I would say. The winds can start to kick up that time of year and you also have the hurricanes being an issue then. Vis is usually around 20-50 feet. Jax diving can be hit...

3 mil full vs shorty in Key Largo?

I was in Key Largo in the beginning of may and I was only in a pair of board shorts, the water has since climbed 5 degrees so I think you'll be just toasty in a shortie.

    Family trip to the Keys

no real shore diving in the keys to my knowledge. Best thing to do would be snorkeling at Bahia Honda near the old rail bridge but watch out for sharks, they tend to hang out there, I've seen alot there, bulls I think they were.

    Daytona beach area diving

Sea Dogs does offshore charters, good operation. Mindanao is a great wreck that they frequent often.

    Family trip to the Keys

Don't forget to take the kids to Robbie's Marina to feed the Tarpon. The kids will have a blast and so will you!

    Question about Bahia Honda

the old bridge has the best diving opportunity at slack tide. A lot of different fish and yes lots of sharks. These tourists were yelling at me once from the top of the bridge saying I was surrounded by sharks. Since the vis is usually no more than 20 feet, I couldn't see them, I'd rather them...

Diving off of Port Orange/Daytona Beach

The charter in New Smyrna is Sea Dogs. I dove with them once, good operation. We dove the Mindanao, a great wreck dive and I also shot a good size gag grouper on that wreck too if you're interested in that sort of thing.

LBTS: Decision Nears On Offshore Energy Port

Good news. Its about time we look off our own coasts to supply us with energy. Its better than burning coal in our power plants too by the way. Gov. Crist needs to support oil drilling off the west coast too so that we can take some postive steps toward achieving energy independence and lower...

    Jax Jettie's

I have heard of a few brave people who have dove the jetties. I wouldn't recommend it on account of the horrible vis, strong currents, boat traffic, high shark presence, numerous entanglements, and some other dangerous factors. If you do decide to try it out, let me know how it went!

    great dives, lousy trip home,,,,,,,,,,,,,

I just got home from there today after camping and diving out of Pennekamp. Any word on what exactly happened? Its always sad to hear of a fellow diver passing away under those circumstances. Good visibility and calm seas my friend.

    Diving South Newfoundland

Man that sounds like fun. There's so much still to discover in NL, its ridiculous. Have fun!

    Diving South Newfoundland

Well I don't know about that area much, but I use Ocean Quest in Conception Bay South to rent tanks, weights, and air. Dive shops are relatively hard to come by in NL and the only ones in the area I know of are Ocean Quest and Dive NL in St. John's I think. I've never been diving around the...

    Diving in the Jacksonville,FL area?

Haha! Really? It seems Northeast Florida can never keep a sizeable fleet of dive charters. Oh well, I have had a few problems with DD getting way too close to my boat when diving anyway. One time we were getting ready to dive, about to get in the water when he pulls up to the dive site and drops...

    Diving in the Jacksonville,FL area?

The Diamond Diver is a charter boat you might want to check out. I think they are afiliated with Diver's Den in Georgia but anyways they dive offshore Jacksonville. Some of my favorite dive sites include The Anna (225' freighter), Blackmar's Reef, Harm's Ledge, AmberJack Hole, East Fourteens and...

    St Augustine

There is good diving off St. Augustine but no charters that I am aware of. Jacksonville has more artificial reefs and wrecks than St. Augustine does as St. Johns county isn't as active as duval in creating artificial reefs. Diamind Diver is one of the better offshore Jax charters for diving if...

    Mike Riopel Memorial Thread

Next Thursday, March 27th, is the monthly Happy Hour meeting at Meridian Divers. I was talking to Sally, and we want to have next Happy Hour in Mikes honor. So if anybody is able to come, it will be at Meridian Divers on Thursday from I think 5-7pm. Lol, I remember one happy hour I was at when...
