    Trident HP hose recall

Took off my Miflex HP hose and bought a braided Trident HP hose to attach to a pressure gauge. Was told by the LDS that the product had no recalls. Third tank, pow, complete separation. When I got home from my dive trip I found a recall notice on the Trident website. Should have checked...

Lens for Nikon D7000- macro and large pelagics

To add some variation to your macro work you can add a 1.4 TC to the 60mm lens and get the working distance you want without the cost of the 105mm. The "older" Nikon 60mm is required because of some incompatibilities of the newer 60mm and the TC. The 60mm alone is a great fish portrait lens.

    D7000.......finally

I think David Busch is a great source. I suspect he has a guide out by now. » D7000 Another good source: http://www.bythom.com/nikond7000guide.htm As above, hold on to your wallet.

Nice collection Doc Looks like you had a great time. 60mm/60mm-1.4TC/105mm all have plus and minus factors to me anyway. Some times I think it is more about staying with one macro subject for a long time and waiting for the right composition as well as playing with the strobes. One strobe vs...

    Atlantis Dumaguete

@gee Shot the moonrise with the 10-24Dx, 20 sec. exposure. No tripod, but I used a Gorilla-pod wrapped on a palm tree! The sun was setting to my back. Wish there had been more time for land photography, but you would have to go for a month...

    comparison of Nikon DSLR's cameras

I would not underestimate the improved ISO technology in the newer Nikon cameras. When shooting available light images being able to push the ISO to get faster shutter speeds is really helpful. The last two trips where I have seen Whale Sharks, flash photography was not allowed. My D2x struggled...

    Atlantis Dumaguete

Dumaguete is muck diving at it's best. Most days either a 60mm or 105mm macro lens on a Nikon D2Xs body. I did play with a +10 wet diopter with mixed results. There were some dive trips to small islands that allowed for wide angle. The Whale Sharks were a rare sighting that we were lucky to...

Thanks WetLens. I need a little more time with the +10. Focusing was an issue, but nothing a little practice won't cure. I stopped counting different Nudibranchs after 20 so there is plenty of stuff right there. The guides are amazing at finding small, "pigmy" critters. Really the biggest...

Thanks, The guides were really very good. They kept finding subjects that were so small, I wasn't sure what I was seeing. Whale Sharks in this area are pretty uncommon. They were seen at Cebu island which is a 2 hr boat ride. The resort wanted to take advantage of the sightings and the seas were...

This may or may not be the right place to post these images. Just back from Dumaguete, Philippines. All images were with a Nikon D2Xs. Lenses included 60mm macro (+/- 1.4 TC), 105mm macro (trying a +10 SubSee diopter for the first time) 10-24mm Dx and a Tokina 10-17mm fisheye. I will post a trip...
