    Thinking Solo

From what I read in a late 1980s PADI magazine was that anytime you buddy is not within x distance or far away enough that they cannot render immediate assisstance you are in effect diving solo. This is an interesting thought and gets aaway from the buddy complacency factor.

To dive, or not to dive...

Sorry to say we have some of the worst dive masters here in the Caribbean. Thank goodness for the instructors. Often the DM is a glorified OW diver. When I asked an instructor the other day but XXX dive shop we will be diving with lost 3 divers in 1998 he mentions well the divemaster was...

    Viper T.E.C. w/ Scuba Pro MK20

I have made the following commentary on another board: No competition the APEKS is better by far in the breathing tests Ive seen plus its apparently also easy to service underwater. I think you should be comparing the APEKS to the Oceanic alpha/delta and Scubapro MK18. The mares equipment I...

    Home built spear gun.

With so many cheap searguns out there why waste time making one , spend the time shooting the fish. Get a small 42" they are good for 10-15 lb of fish. Cost $39-99.

Just bought a used pair of Scubapro jetfins for $30 plus $8 postage, they are heavy black rubber fins and the previous owner duct taped the strap ends, why i do not know as the straps are not long and I do not believe they would dangle down. I did not realise they are so heavy and even though...

Gary is arguably the most famous/leading wreck diver. He was a pioneer on the Andreas Dorias and has written several books on wreck diving. He also has a famous personality. Check these random links on Gary http://www.deepexplorers.com/seeker/crew.html...
