Hello,
We are flying into Zadar at the end of August but have a car hired so we can choose to dive near Zadar or Split.
Can anyone recommend which is better? We haven't booked accommodation yet so could also consider taking the car ferry to Solta or anywhere else in that region. We are a...
We will be in Mombasa area next week - can anyone recommend any dive centres as the threads I found were fairly old.
From a search it seems Buccaneer and Barracuda are the main ones - anyone dived with either?
Thanks for any answers!
If you only plan on doing a few dives a year then I would rent. Rental equipment should be on good working order and regularly serviced and if it's not then find somewhere else to dive.
I would suggest investing in a mask (it's cheap and having a badly fitting mask would ruin a dive) and a...
Head to the Visayas. Its easy and cheap to travel around so you can see a few places. Start in Cebu as thats the biggest place to get to and consider Malapascuar and/or Marlboal. I've been looking at taking a holiday there myself and both seem expensive but they are big diving destinations...
I agree with Matt: we came here in May and the vis was pretty much unlimited and the water lovely and warm.
July onwards is supposed to T season here (Anda, Bohol) but bar a few minor storms which rarely affected diving the weather was fine. I think we had maybe 4 days of non diving and that...
I'm biased as I work in Bohol!
As well as Alona and Balicasag which is nice but very busy and touristy, also consider Anda or Cabilao which is similar diving but less divers.
Anda, where I am based, is much more off the beaten track but we have wonderful corals and just hundreds of fish (no...
I dived in Cancun which was dreadful although I'm not sure I'd recommend it for any sort of holiday.
What about Roatan, Honduras? Okay so the diving is amazing but with the trips being so close to shore most of the shops only do one tank dive trips so you can get up early, get a quick dive...
Great photos...I'm in Bohol but want to make a trip to Malapscua soon and having heard mixed reviews was good to read your thoughts. We have a lot of customers through here that say the same...there's a lot of sitting around just waiting to see a few minutes of sharks.
Abyss Divers visit our resort as part of their Camiguin tour. I've never dived with them, they have their own boat for diving and own guide, they just use our resort for sleeping but they all seem to be having a good time. They usually spend a few nights here so have (I think) three full days...
Not sure if this should be in the Philippines forum or the Equipment forum but as I'm looking for Philippine specific answers I'll try here first :)
Does anyone know of a place that does custom wetsuits in the Philippines? I'm based in Bohol so anywhere accessible from Cebu is best or...
We use the Sparten BCDs and the basic DIN regs for our rental equipment and considering the wear and tear they take (as with all rental equipment) they seem pretty sturdy. i would happily replace with more stock.
Hi there
We offer a DM internship. It depends on what time of year you are coming but we have accommodation/board/course packages. If you are interested send me an email to my work address and I can send you a Divemaster pdf brochure: dive@flower-beach.com
We are based in Anda, Bohol and...
I work in Bohol (Anda) and during this July I think we had two days where we couldn't dive. Its technically rainy season but we were very lucky this year.
As there are few guests during these months you could also keeping your plans flexible - research the places you want to go and have idea...
Come to the Philippines. In Anda, on the beautiful island of Bohol we have some of the most amazing diving.
Accommodation would be just PHP 30,120 for 12 nights which includes breakfast and three course evening meal in a single room on the cliff tops overlooking the sea. A 15 dive package...
I'd agree with Roger's list in the order to buy. Def consider a mask and a computer but the rest depends on space and weight.
A mask for sure - I have real trouble getting masks to fit well so I only use my own.
A personal computer is good for safety. I have the Suunto D4 which is my...
Hi there
I would rethink the equipment if you are going to do a lot of diving as rental will add up. If you don't want to carry too much even if you just had mask, snorkel, fins, computer and regs that's a big start and just hiring a BCD shouldn't set you back a fortune. E.g. In our dive shop...
BCDS - Its so important to have the right fit. We have the scubapro t-ones in xxs in our shop and they are pretty adjustable. I use them for training the local girls (Filippino - so teeny) and they have no problems. We also carry the aquamundo sparten range which is so adjustable its...
