Hi Harro, No, I clean that one daily, I mean do you unscrew the entire pressure button as there is a second O dining between the housing and the vacume unit. One that can’t be seen without removing the entire unit so you can see through into the housing.

for those of you with a vacuum pump attached to your housing, do you ever entirely remove it to clean the o ring? If so how often?

Appreciate the thoughts! I actually own the 90mm too, but was looking to keep the working distance down to help keep out back scatter especially when doing fish portraits. I would love the Nauticam housing but need to keep costs down right now. And I do not trust my carpenter skills enough...

Thanks again for the response mate. That was a typo on my end. Mean 30mm not 10cm. But 3-4cm is still a good deal of space. Esp if you want to add on a diopter. Would a diopter even work with that much distance?

Thank you Barmaglot I know it can be finicky underwater but with a good focus light it can get the job done. I have a nex-7 and it does ok in my Nauticam housing, but I’m hopeful the focus improves with the a6500. (It does above water as you can use higher iso to keep the Appature at f7 ish)...

doea anyone know if I can use the Zeiss 50mm 2.8 macro with the a6500 in a sea frogs salted housing? If so what port would you suggest? Thanks!

While I am not 100% upon that model you should be able to do at least 2 things. 1) turn down the view finder brightness. And the lcd screen while your at it. 2) sounds like you need to turn on focus tracking. It lets you focus on an fish and then follow it. Check your manual or better...

I started Diving with the Sony 30/3.5 with an nex-7 when it first came out. I have to say I love the combo and some of my fav dive photos came from it. It works great for fish portits plus you have the benefit of being able to shoot Mack as long as you get close. I mean reallllllly close...

How is it switching between the EVF and monitor? How do you do it as the EVF switches off when the monitor is tilted out?

Yes you can raise the flashand turn it on and off. And while you can't "lower it" the switch will flip back and turn it off so you can keep the flash from fireing, but it is still technically up.

Just to point out I have no clue how the lens will do in a dome port. I assume it would be fine as it can focus close, but it's hard to say how much macro effect you would get. Good luck!

while I'm not sure if Ibis is less useful than oss i usually have that off underwater. I may be wrong but heard that was the thing to do. Also, if you shoot with flash, the flash should freeze the motion so ibis/oss wouldn't make a difference I would think in my completely unprofessional opinion.

I have always found that during the daytime the 30 mm has no problem auto focusing without a focus light. Maybe a little harder if only an inch or so away from the subject or in darker conditions And it of course doesn't hurt to have one.

Hi Lars, For macro it's close. Like a couple of inches close. The closer you are the more magnification you get. Though this will also depend on how much room is in your port. Meaning of the lens is close to the end of the port you will have x amount of distance. But if your lens is a lot...
