    Overnight in Manila

With a flight that early I would stay near the airport and your plan B, the Heritage Hotel (Pasay)is only 4km away from the airport. Its an easy place to find when you arrive and you can always take a cab to sightsee Manila. Over night is not a lot of time, its better to deal with the light...

    Camera getting moisture inside housing

Hi Regards to using the A/C to “dry” the camera and housing…would the A/C work better in blow drying ones wet hair after a shower, instead of using in hot hair dryer? Would this not defy the thermal states of matter? Meaning that heat will turn a liquid into a gas or vapor state and the cold...

    Jollibee coming soon to Seattle

It must be a slow diving day... No offence but for those who have not experience eating at Jollibee and may believe that Jollibee is fine Philippine cooking…its not. The place is great for kids but grownups could find a much better burger, chicken or spaghetti (with sweet sauce?)...

    Camera getting moisture inside housing

Hi Were both dives on the same day? Could it possible that the first dive, camera on, burned off the water inside the camera, causing the fog. Then setting it up for a dry camera on the second dive, and no fog?

    Camera getting moisture inside housing

There has to be water and heat to make that fog. The heat source is a given, when camera is on. Source of water is a real leak or water that is sticking to the interwalls of the housing or the camera itself when you close the door. Try warming up the inside of the housing with a hair dryer and...

    Ikelite W-20 WAL Question

Sounds like a leak to me, hope you did not pay too much for that lens. This is why I like the internal wideangle lens setup. Good Luck

    Ikelite Internal Wide Angle Lens

Good idea! Your Raynox lens is the way to go on this setup, price and quality beats the wet wide angle lense. Could you not zoom in a bit to cut out that vignetting? I am not sure if the vignetting is from the housing dome port or the Raynox lens. If from the dome you could move the camera to...

Easy (cheap) way to get to Subic, PG or Anilao

Easier, faster and cheaper to go to Subic from EDSA. Air conditioned Victory Liner @ EDSA goes non stop to Olongapo/Subic, if PG you still need to take a ferry from Batangas. I have not taken this route since the US Navy pulled out of that base, I hear the roads are even better.

    Ikelite Internal Wide Angle Lens

Thanks for the example, the Vignetting is a show stopper for me. This is why I will hold off on buying a land based UW video system (except for the low price GoPro type) for now. I'll wait till the interchangeable lense systems come out with a housing and large domeport for the native 16mm...

    Phillipines in Aug/Sept (Donsol?)

Thank you for your assurance that there will be no flight delays or cancellations going in and out of Manila, no flooded streets going to and from the airports during the rainy season. Also for your guarantee that there will be zero run off of mud and silt during the rainy season so 100ft...

    New Sony cam

Another killer app from Sony...same interchangeable lens (16mm) but with a smaller body. 1080 HD plus 14mp stills! It pays to hold off on getting an U/W video system until the dust settles. If I had to get a system for now, I would go with the GoPro for less cost, until they make a housing...

Looking for replacement camera and wider angle lens

Hi Very good point about using compact cameras for video...did you see the Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-HX5V? HD 1080 video in a compact digital camera! HD 1080 was only for the big boy DSLRs! I checked the lense angle on the Sony at a local store...pretty wide already, all it needs is a dome port! And...

    GoPro HD underwater blur fix

Hi Thanks, no diopter, but the picture size will increase when you change from a Dome to a Flat port. The subject will look 25% closer through a flat port than through a dome port at the same distance. I just bought the GoPro housing the dome port is too small in size for that wide angle...

    New Sony cam

SEL16F28 | 16mm f/2.8 Wide-Angle Lens | Sony | Sony Style USA Yes put that 16mm wide angle lens (no need for a wide angle add-on lens) behind a matched 8 inch U/W dome port and its the end of story... But then isnt this just like the high end DSLRs like the Canon and Nikons? But with better...

    GoPro HD underwater blur fix

This looks like a flat port diopter (close up lense). I would like to see them use the dome port instead because with a flat port, you will lose 25% of your picture angle, which is a lot in U/W videos/photos. One would have to pull the camera away from the subject in order to get the image in...
