Please be careful with pharmacy drugs in Cozumel

Thank you so much for sharing this Dave. Twice I have helped one of our hospitals with a foreign patient that bought pain meds from a local pharmacy and in both cases ended up in the ER and had their stomach contents pumped out with charcoal. It happens more than people think. Thank God she's...

Dock fees have jumped the shark at the Cozumel Palace

I would be shocked if the taxistas actually allow them to do it. Only taxis and licensed shuttles are allowed to pick up and drop off hotel guests and there is taxi stand directly across from the hotel. Sadly, the taxistas have a history of stopping any private transportation from happening to...

How is the "Port is closed" communicated?

I live in Cozumel (10 years now). It has nothing to do with being in the 21st century. lol The fact is the weather just changes too quickly here and that would be a waste of time and present a possibility of miscommunication to visitors. Best way is to stay in touch with your dive op. If you...

    Scuba Board dinner invitation Sunday

Keep me posted. I have to meet some friends to music a bit later at Bebemos (formerly Just Chillin and before that Le Chef), but I can pop by and lift a glass and a taco of good cheer for your birthday, Dandy!

    Tropical Storm Grace

Right now, still a Tropical Depression. Let's hope she loses some strength before she gets to us. I'm still tired from last year!

    New Cozumel scuba scavenger hunt

Thanks for your detailed description! You have obviously done your homework and research and you have the experience to boot. Looks like it could be fun. I wish you success! PS You should do a locals day. Some may want to try it out and recommend to others, but most of us don't want to pay...

    Current COVID/masking in Cozumel

Don't get caught up in the politics? Yeah. Right. No thank you! lol But try living here full time. It IS very different. And It's not just what I see living here every day, it is also what physicians and nurses and other friends in the medical field are telling me. Thanks for your input...

What to do if you test positive before flying home?

It is very easy to get the PCR test here. There are plenty of places that do testing. These are just a few, but your best options: International Hospital - Avenida Rafael Melgar and Calle 5 Sur (+52) 987 872 1430 https://www.facebook.com/SSSChamberCozumel/ Hospital Médica San Miguel- Calle 6...

What to do if you test positive before flying home?

Join an English speaking Cozumel facebook group with a large membership and then you can post and ask for delivery solutions, alternative places to stay, places to get tested, etc., if that happens. "Cozumel4You" is the biggest one with over 34K members, quite a few Scubaboard members are on...

    Current COVID/masking in Cozumel

It's super easy for people to sit in their chairs and speculate or claim that expats are blaming tourists but that's not true. Trying not to get pissed off here, and this is exactly why I don't get on public forums much anymore to discuss. Because someone is going to make some old, tired...

    Current COVID/masking in Cozumel

Great post! Whether it is a hotel or an Air BnB, you just have to stay in your zone and use common sense on how you are going to manage your vacation and your safety zones. Totally agree!

    Current COVID/masking in Cozumel

Haha No kidding! I did not have time to read through all 14 pages of theories. But I will answer as best I know. I am a full time resident in Cozumel (year round) for almost 10 years now. Here are my thoughts and experiences in no particular order. YES, the covid situation in Cozumel has been...

    Covid help

The problem is the hospital does not have the advanced equipment needed to treat him. BTW, this is the hospital that people pay into through work, not the hospital that treats low income residents. Two different hospitals. He is a wonderful veterinarian and I can not count the number of times...

    Found items in Cozumel

Great idea! I would recommend when posting, they put the date the item was found and what dive site, if known.

    New Cozumel scuba scavenger hunt

Wow I do not think there is a reason for you to do something that undermines what they are trying to do. You may think it is a dumb idea, and you may not like it, but leaving negative comments on their You Tube page and trying to undermine what they are doing is taking it too far. Not cool!
