I always travel with my reg, computers, mask, swimsuit and at least a toothbrush in a roll aboard. My little camera fits in my shirt pocket without the housing. Never had any problems yet and this practice proved itself this year when all of my checked luggage was lost for 3 days.

My gear came with detailed care and maintenance instructions including a 1 hour soak in warm water with tank attached. This makes sense since city water is also chlorinated and allowing a 1 hour soak would give the chlorine a chance become inactivated. So after diving I try to fill the bath...

As a minimum I have my gear put thru annual maintenance then check it out in the pool for about an hour. This year we're also doing a rescue clinic in the pool. I like the idea and it's only $25.00 (we own our tanks and they are full after annual visual).
