Sounds good to me. One of the ‘highlights’ of one of our beach club SIs last month (spring break) was hordes of drunk college kids, including one girl so drunk her friends had to carry her off the beach, leaving a trail of vomit all the way. Not a huge deal but having a divers-only spot to stop...
Per your earlier posts, you’re a PADI basic open water diver who hasn’t dove in a decade, never below 60’, and never with more than a single tank. Perhaps some more actual experience would be good before ranting against the long-established standards of actual technical divers.
As for the old...
I don’t think the loop would have been included if you bought it as a preassembled console.
It’s part number 413205, they’re pretty easy to find on eBay for less than $20.
Criticism will happen whether you’re on here or not. If you’re here to read it you have the opportunity to address legitimate complains, defend false statements, and wisely ignore the clearly ludicrous. The internet is definitely more in your favor than against you if you learn how to play it...
They’re also the ones who have what you want in stock, don’t take weeks to get it to you, don’t spin lies to push the brand they happen to carry, and have customer service skills.
Rotten scoundrels....
The canister and battery could still be used for an LED conversion.
As for the bulb, that was the industry response to LED proliferation, not a Halcyon decision.
Part number for the bulb is m10n003 and unless something has changed very recently, it has been discontinued.
I think you could use an m10n004 but it doesn’t have the ‘test tube’ shroud.
I don’t own a single Atomic product of any kind. My point is that a $1400 Atomic is a reasonable alternative to a ~$1300 Scubapro. That’s it. I’m sorry it touched a nerve with you guys.
If I were him, I’d buy Deep6 simply for the price and parts availability. But if he doesn’t mind the cost...
$1400 is right around what either a Mk17/G260 or Apeks XTX would cost. So yes, among the high-end options he listed, it is in the ballpark. It’s okay if you hate Atomic, but price isn’t a great reason in this scenario.
One small difference on the M1 (which is probably irrelevant to you) is the ability to use a ‘cave ring’ kit which allows easy disassembly of the second stage underwater. That’s really only useful for people doing cave diving in very silty conditions.
