    Thoughts in Dive Cancellations

I have never booked on a boat as a tourist that I have not had to pay for my spot in advance. There has always been a cancellation policy so that I get a refund as long as I don't cancel inside 24 hours. Why would you complain about others cancelling (for whatever reason) then say that you would...

A couple of Questions about the Lynx before I buy..

Batteries are readily available, T2 has replaced the T1, I can read mine in the sun, dive info shows up in the surface mode but is easy to go into the log as well, Tx stays atteched to your 1st stage either screwed directly into it but I do recomend putting it on a 6" hose to avoid the potential...

    My close call

I deal with panicked divers much differently than this. He was calm through most of it, but yeah you'd think he would choose to hold onto one at least. We did a few practice drills after that too.

    My close call

So I was taking a new junior diver on his 8th dive. Conditions were great, bit of low vis from 0-20 ft but unlimited below that with lots of light. We did our descent to 40ft and were about to start swimming around. I looked down to turn on my camera and when I looked up his octo was free...

Safe procedures for children's swimming pool try-dive?

What was the age of the kids? They must be eight to do the BubbleMakers program so any kids I have had in the pool doing this just stand up if there's a problem. They shouldn't be in a pool over their head although I have had a couple very short 8 year olds. If the out of water instructor saw...

    Tipping Etiquette in Western Canada

Dont get me wrong, I do tip 5$ a dive, I just dont consider that alot. I guess it does add up with 8-10 divers in my DM`s group. I have shown my instructor card, it usually lets me get a little longer in the water or to be left alone more.

    Tipping Etiquette in Western Canada

I know when I stop in Hawaii, I will do up to 10 dives on the same boat in a weekend. I put too much on the CC to tip too much. Bit, I dont let anyone change my tanks, I carry my own stuff and I even help with carrying tanks, and they dont have to watch me too close underwater.

    New dive shop in Victoria

It is great that he took it over, I like alot of the changes made in the first weekend. The banks were being installed right away and there are BP, wings and doubles in the windows. I will think again about doing the Trimix course but still not sure what i'll get out of it for for my 150ft...

Sorry Dave, made the update, shows how not Trimix qualified I am. This post did not come from Dave by the way, he would have done it the right way.

    Tipping Etiquette in Western Canada

I have only been tipped a couple times in my years as a DM/Instructor. As a customer here I find the boat prices high enough, compared to Halifax and the Lakes that I feel that when I pay 100-120 a day that is enough money. I do get paid OK as a DM here, even if my dives are a little shorter...

    (C)ESA incident

I practice CESA's still from about 55 ft and up. Not having a bailout plan or a way to get air from a buddy is poor planning. Glad you're OK, lucky you weren't deeper.
