    Dutch Springs - thefts

I dive Dutch a lot, I live nearby and teach there. I'm also a solo diver up there so i'm used to leaving my gear unattended for long periods. I've always been impressed with the fact that you can leave expensive dive gear laying around and have no worries that it'll be there when you get back...

any trick to linking the transmitter of a compumask

I'm having a bit of trouble getting my mask and transmitter on speaking terms. I'm not bad with dive computers, i've had just about every one made in the last 20 years and figured them all out, but this one has me stumped. I got the compumask for my minimalistic travel rig for when i have to...

    Meg lost or stolen 8-26

Hi Everyone, I just wanted to give you the epilog, I’ve got my rig back! I got it back complete with a little wear and tear, the small plastic bracket for the HUD was broken and the scrubber canister had a mid column crack about 2” long. Other than that it seems alright...

    Meg lost or stolen 8-26

I have traveled a lot for most of my life and never lost a bag.... had a few delayed, delivered that evening to the hotel etc... but never totally lost...

    Meg lost or stolen 8-26

Didn't even know about Tumi registration... but it was covered anyway, partially by the airline $3K and the rest by my insurance.

    Meg lost or stolen 8-26

Thank you for assuming my bouyancy was good to start with.... I've been diving for almost 30 years, but just diving the Meg for 6 months. It is a humbling learning curve.

    Meg lost or stolen 8-26

I also had a pair of fins and a small tool kit in the bag.... i suspect if the bag was stolen all he would keep was the tool kit and the fins... Hopefully it will still turn up. the rig was only 6 months old and i had it tweaked just right, i really don't want to go through the hassel and time...

Tumi is just a nice rolling suit bag like you see flight attendants and pilots use.

    Meg lost or stolen 8-26

For what it's worth, i flew from Philadelphia to Miami to dive the keys on the 26th. I had my meg well packed in a Tumi bag and checked it at philly. Thats the last anyone saw of it including USair. No big deal it was well insured but it will be a hassel getting a new one, setting it up and...

Is anyone diving a Meg with a Zeagle Ranger?

I did like the idea of the COPIS, i was actually torn between a KISS or Meg. But i decided i diddn't want the first model year of anything, let alone a rebreather. As for the scrubber i just got the standard one that comes with it. There are a million upgrades that i've got my eye on but i...

Is anyone diving a Meg with a Zeagle Ranger?

The ranger ltd can be set up with either a cam strap for singles or a backplate for doubles. Except for in the pool with students i always dive it with a BP and doubles bolted to it, it's got grommets on the back between the wings. So i bolted the Meg to my BP and ranger but it rode real low...

Is anyone diving a Meg with a Zeagle Ranger?

I just took delivery of my brand new Meg, I would love to dive it with my trusty, comfortable old Zeagle Ranger LTD. I only played with it for a few minutes befor dinner but it seemed to have some configuration issues. Do I have to use a BP&W or can i use my Zeagle. I asked Steve at Meg...

    Gas Switching

Essentially I agree with DA Aquamaster above with a few minor variations. I do the bulk of my dives in the 100' to 150' range my gas is typically air as a travel and bottom mix 50% as deco and the last stop on 100%. I never got into dive tables and bottom timers except for what i needed to...

    Gas Switching

I use a uwatec smartec and a vr3... just to have redundancy. The uwatec does 3 gasses and keeps track of remaining bottom time. The vr3 does like... 32 gasses or so on 3 different profiles.... and plays deco games.

How do rebreathers perform on an ice dive?

Well yeah a little.... but mostly my back after climbing ladders all summer with twin 120's and two deco bottles.... wreck reels...etc. It's funny the older i get the heavier my gear gets..... go figure.

How do rebreathers perform on an ice dive?

I'm considering trading in my twin 120's and deco bottles for a rebreather. A lot of the diving i do is cold... Down to the 30's air temp on late fall Jersey wreck dives and down to the teens when i go ice diving once or twice a year. Norway in January, san juan island in Washington state etc...

    Leisurepro Good Deal

Just to follow up on my old post, I just received my replacement dive computer from LP under their warranty program, about 7 days after I sent it back to them. My air Z went back for battery replacement through the local authorized dealer where I bought it. I gave it to him about a month...
