day 2, MOLASSES REEF, saturday, 8/12/17

Thank you iamrushman. Well, when we dive in a tourist-driven area dominated by commercial, charter and sport fishing... We never even used to see reef sharks at all (first several years I was here, never saw one on Molasses Reef, now we see them on nearly every dive in certain places on the...

Thank you CajunDiva. Might be the same one - pretty tame, never moved, out near the dead pillar coral patch, still there on the way back

USCG DUANE, MOLASSES REEF, friday, 8/11/17, pixs

Thank you scubadada. Yes, the coney has been around for several years. Seems he is most playful on days with little to no current. We could not find him today (current was very strong - mooring ball underwater when we came up from the dive). Usually that species of parrotfish is very shy, I...

day 2, MOLASSES REEF, saturday, 8/12/17

Thank you Craig. Yes, we see several reef sharks regularly, and I am sure I have images of this one from other dives. Most of the reef sharks we see have hooks in them, and a lot of the nurse sharks and barracuda, too.

KEY LARGO, a few from today, wed 8/2/17,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Thank you iamrushman. That is quite gratifying to hear, since one of my strobe cords broke recently and I have been shooting one strobe instead of two since the middle of June. It has made me concentrate more on accuracy with only one strobe, so it has been a period to work on enhancing skills.
