Orlando diver lost - Silver Glen Springs Caves, Florida

In that case I suspect she saw a diver looking for the guy instead of the lost one.

Orlando diver lost - Silver Glen Springs Caves, Florida

I was surprised that there is so little info. I work at a Marina on the St. Johns and I had a boater come in and said that there was a diver missing. He and his wife are ocean divers and not familiar with cave diver gear. He said that his wife mentioned to him that she saw a scuba diver enter...

Orlando diver lost - Silver Glen Springs Caves, Florida

He was seen entering the water in scuba gear. That would make it a scuba accident. There is a big cave system there with only a tiny entrance. I talked to a guy who was up there on a boat at the time. He said that his wife mentioned seeing him and said he had two small tanks. I asked the guy...

    Master Scuba Diver

My daughter,16, got hers this past spring. It came with one very proud mother. She is a really really good dive buddy. She already had 2 occasions to put her rescue dive training to use. Once was when she noticed a fellow dive was struggling to stay down at their safety stop. She swam up and...

Viewing Photos from Camera on Kindle

I just purchased an EZ Share SD card. It works kinda like blue tooth to send the pics to my tablet.I have their ap on my tablet and the card sends the pics without taking the card out of the camera. You can even transfer the pics while out on the boat. It has its own photo editor that is simple...

    Best florida instructor?

Both my daughter and I have taken classes with Spuce Creek Scuba and we have our gear serviced there. I cannot imagine there being a shop that I would recommend more. The instructors are awesome and I am confident in the condition of our gear and Tracy, the owner, is a really nice guy. That has...

    strange worm creature in Chuuk

I think it is a type of medusa worm. I didn't get a good look at the head but from what I saw of it and they are extremely shy of light. I found a pic of one. http://www.advancedaquarist.com/2002/11/inverts_album/Synaptula_sp_copy.jpg Beautiful video. I absolutely loved it.

Taking wife to cayman, need help

When we go to Grand Cayman, we go for the snorkeling and the diving. We can eat at wonderful, expensive eating establishments every day back home. Last summer we stayed on East End for 2 weeks at the Morritts and the only eating out we did was subway, once. With that said, we also ate great...

    Marine Growth

Commonly called Sun Corals. They open up beautifully at night. The photo looks like there are something else too, maybe type of sponge. Those are my guesses.

Completing Advanced Open Water Diver cert during our stay. Help!

Peak Performance Buoyancy for sure. It will make you a better, safer, diver for all of your future diving including when you do take the night dive class. I have done the Ocean Frontiers UV dive and it was awesome and you don't have to be night diver certified for it. My daughter has Padi AOW...

Dissolving starfish in the Puget Sound

Starfish are much more sensitive to change of acidity. A slight, even gradual change will cause them to die when nothing else is affected. It would be my first suspect.

Six left at sea - Thailand

If the boat had mechanical problems and could not either anchor or moor to remain at the dive site, called to have another boat pick up divers, then what other option did they have? If they became dead in the water in a current, if there was any, they would not have any way of staying to pick...

Water skill levels of Open Water students & course pace

I would think that the majority of scuba students take the course because they love being in water and can't wait until they are able to spend 20 or 30 minutes underwater. It seems odd to me why someone who is so uncomfortable in the water and dreads being underwater would consider scuba to be a...

Death at Blue Springs State Park, Florida

My heart goes out to all and I sincerely hope the survivor gets some counseling. I've spent many hours at Blue Springs State Park and it's considered more of a pita dive then a dangerous dive but I wouldn't go past the 65' mark either.

What is Animal Planet Thinking? Why a lionfish?

What is Animal Planet Thinking? Why a lionfish?

It is the perfect fish for that promotion. They are much hardier in a tank than most tropical salt fish. I would have been upset if they had offered to give away delicate fish, like butterfly fish, to novice tank owners who would have been doomed. One less in the ocean.
