    Preventing mask loss vs a spare

    Would it work with a flap of neoprene at the back of the hood, sewn along the top, and velcro along the bottom - a bit like a zip protector on a drysuit. Put the mask on, get the strap under the flap, and velcro it down.

    You might want to try the UK diving forum at Yorkshire Divers - Scuba Diving Forums, Articles, Reviews and Community - there's plenty of people there who dive Scapa, and at least one Scapa dive-shop owner on there.

    Temporary PADI C-card

    I did my OW in February, and I was given a printout of a temp c-card the same day (apparently the instructor just prints it out when he enters your details into the PADI website, which is what triggers them printing and sending your plaster c-card).
