I also liked the marker stones. The music was pretty groovy, too.

    Housing 'Timecodes'

My D9 transmitts wirelessly my air pressure. Why can't they put a transmitter in an (admittedly larger) computer which sends the info (depth, compass heading, whatever) to a receiver in the camera (Lanc something or other) in the housing? Could be done, I guess. Expensive, though.

    Kayak Diving?

I'm gonna have to stick with the standard PADI "Never dive alone" answer here. First, you're new to kayaking, so things are gonna go wrong. Another person (hopefully with another kayak) should certainly come along, just to help solve the beginner mistakes you're sure to make (no offense...

    Kayak Diving?

That's good advice, and you would do well to heed it. My .02 is to imagine your kayak upside down. Anything on thats not stowed or strapped to your yak is either floating or sinking.

    Kayak Diving?

I agree. MARK THEOBOlD'S info (I think it comes in disk form now) is a GREAT RESOURCE. I teach the PADI Kayak Diver specialty course, which I think was patterned after his book. Very informative and I find it very helpful. I can switch out 80's on my kayak, but I recommend you practice a...

    Hurt myself diving in Cabo

Whether you dive again is between you and your doctors. I second the above advice about equalizing early and often and merely would like to say that you seemed to keep your cool quite well when you got injured. I know many people could have freaked out and shot to the surface, and that...

Rocket Ascents... Can divers breach like a fish (split from Accident in Mich)

Amen to that. So, it looks like we've all learned that you're not gonna see a diver shoot up and lift his fins all the way outta the water unless: he is wearing Wile E. Coyote rocket fins you're both in Bizzaro Earth he's upsidedown you're smoking some MAJOR Crack

Rocket Ascents... Can divers breach like a fish (split from Accident in Mich)

:D The first four years entailed learning how to spell "You're" correctly. The last 3.5 I learned about sarcasm... :D

Rocket Ascents... Can divers breach like a fish (split from Accident in Mich)

I'm not a scientist, but I was an undergrad for 7.5 years, thereby making me smarter than most of you, so here's my guess: Either the breaching diver was using a flux capacitor or the guy who allegedly saw the diver breach was using a bit of THC. Just my educated guess.........

Great decision. C'mon over here, the water's fine!

    Loss of enthusiasm?

I agree with about everything said so far. Try being an instructor and doing a month of nothing but open waters. Egad. I'll try and mix things up by hopping on the kayak and diving someplace unexplored by me (and, who knows, maybe I'm the first to dive there ever?). That makes it...
