    Atmos Mission One

Is it normal to take over 20 minutes to acquire the gps? Mine regularly takes 20 or more minutes to acquire a signal. To be clear...I have been in a clear location without any obstructions with the sky. This happens over a mile offshore on my RIB (no top) throughout the Florida Keys, as well...

    Surface GPS to take diving

Is there a cheap GPS that I can take underwater while diving? NOT A GPS TO BE USED UNDERWATER. I only want to use it when I surface to get a bearing to my boat or shore entry point. I already have 2 Shearwaters, so I do not want to spend $$$ on a Descent. I did buy an underwater canister for...

    Oriskany dive fatality

Does anyone know info on the diver that passed away after surfacing from an Oriskany dive? I know his name and which local shop he is affiliated, but I don't want to mention until it is officially released in the news. I don't know any other details. R.I.P.

Manatees March 2019 - where, when and with whom should I go?

The below is a snip from Google Earth of the entrance to the 3 Sisters Springs area. The image was taken in March, 2017. You can clearly see dozens of manatees hanging out in the restricted areas of either side of the spring entrance. You can also see all the kayaks and manatee watchers. I...

    Diving from a Jet Ski

I bought it used and fixed it up. Cost me around $2k (with a crappy motor). I put in about $2k fixing the boat (recoating the tubes) and adding electronics. I also ended up getting a new 70HP Yamaha last year ($8k new with rigging). AB Inflatables are considered top line in rigid inflatables...

    Diving from a Jet Ski

Get a rigid inflatable. They're fun, very stable, hold a lot of gear, comfortable surface interval and easy/lightweight to tow. I'll be towing mine to Florida next week with my Jeep: my boat @ Tampa by Katch posted Dec 13, 2017 at 8:29 PM Tampa, Venice, Ft Myers and Key Largo  Steve

    Dive Sites Around Nags Head

If you're comfortable with the Beaufort/Morehead City dives, then Nags Head will be fine. The more challenging stuff is south at Hatteras (they are amazing dives). The U-85 is off Nags Head. Great dive with great history (1st U-boat we sank off the east coast in WWII). It's been about four...

    Myrtle Beach worth diving?

Well...I'll be seeing you there Dr. Tracy! I just signed up for next Saturday. I'll probably be bringing my doubles-since they're sitting around the house already full. Do you plan on doing one long dive, or two no-deco dives? I haven't called the shop yet to see if they are fine with it. I'll...

    Myrtle Beach worth diving?

I'm heading to Myrtle Beach next weekend. I haven't heard much about the diving there, and if it was worth packing the tanks/gear for a day or two diving. The meg diving in Wilmington would be great, but it doesn't look like any regular charters are going out (I'm traveling solo). I'm going...

Dive Shops in the DC area?

Coral Edge Adventures is out around Manassas. They probably have the largest showroom of gear in the area. Their prices are comparable to many of the internet stores too.
