Looking for - One breath backup DSMB - See attached photos

Thanks everyone who has replied with tips and tricks on how to replace the valve and where from. I'll definitely pursue that avenue before a WTB, but its good to know that theyre still out there. Incredible but simple piece of kit.

Thanks Yes, the oral inflation tube. As soon as it's inflated it deflates immediately. I've never had one fail for swimming or diving so never considered how simple or not it is to replace.

    Darn I miss DeepSeaSupply

I've just returned to the scuba board after a hiatus of about 10 years, apparently the kit I am looking to replace is DSS. Best engineered backup DSMB I ever had. I'd like to repurpose it but the valve has gone after years in my loft not being dived.

Looking for - One breath backup DSMB - See attached photos

Wow thanks, Do you own one? How did you recognise the brand? Any suggestions on how I could find replacement parts to replace the valve? Tweeze out the busted bit and replace? Or remove and reseal the whole inflate tube? Seems such a shame to get rid of it. I'm hoping to use it from the...

Looking for - One breath backup DSMB - See attached photos

Hey all, Hopefully the hive mind can help me to purchase another of these DSMBs I have this incredible backup DSMB. One breath to fill, Solas tape at the tip. Unbranded (can't find any email purchase receipts). I used to shove it in a pocket on a tiny short spool, to deploy from a safety stop...

need Anilao - budget resorts - deciding in next 24hrs!

Thanks for the heads up. It still sounds pricey. Twice the price of anywhere else I've stayed and same for the diving. Is it busy? How well can they cater for individual divers? Nic I've booked a very last minute flight and would really like to dive Anilao this time.

why are there very few young divers?

Money, transport, time. I was lucky enough to learn to dive with my dad aged 15, but not having a disposable income, or a car, meant that I only racked up 20-25 dives by the time I was 19. Worked 7 days a week for 6 months, made some poorly advised gear choices, dived for 2-3 months before...

    How does Anilao rate..?

Cheers Devon, Sounds like Anilao would be perfect if I could get a couple of mates together during the week. Unfortunately that seems unlikely. Maybe I should set some time aside and give it a try anyways so I can report back for future backpackers. FinneRioaTaus. If I can secure I trip to the...

    How does Anilao rate..?

Wiggsy, I do apologise for derailing your thread a little bit. If I could help with Anilao I would do. I could highly recommend the accommodation that I used in MoalBoal, but I imagine it is far removed from what you will have at Kasai Village. Mainly dormitory beds but as I was with a friend...

    How does Anilao rate..?

While people are recommending Anilao in an active post, can I hijack and re-ask a question? Are there homestays/pension houses/dorm accommodation in Anilao for PHP500 ish per night? I crossed Anilao off my Philippines list last time as I was advised that it is impossible to find cheap...

    Rashes from diving

Drying out, in between dives during multi-dive days is a must. Sitting around in suit all day is a open door for nappy rash and thrush. I hope you find the solution Nic

    Accidental saturation diver.

After his tug overturned in rough weather he found himself trapped at 30m in an air pocket. He was the only survivor of the incident. The divers and support vessel did an incredible job rescuing him from the ship and getting him through his initial 2 hour decompression. The professionalism of...

Should all instructors really have ALL their own equipment?

Different scenario again. Most 'DiveMasters' will likely not be 'DiveMasters', but dive guides only. Those who are training as DMs from and in poorer countries will usually dive in ex rental gear, and other gear such as computers will come out of any wages earned in installments. But they're...

    Rashes from diving

If it happens after 3 dives, are you keeping the wetsuit on all day? or removing it and drying out between dives? Nic

differences in men and women while diving

This! I always feel head heavy (in twins) without ankle weights. When I swapped out my jet fins for my instructors force fins under water I had no control, was upside and all over the place, even trying to stay upright vertical was a pain. I have only completed 15 twinset dives, using 3...

Indonesia, Malaysia OR back to Philippines?

Is there homestay/pension house/dorm accommodation in Anilao for PHP500/night? I crossed it off my Philippines list last time as I was advised that affordable accommodation is awkward Nic

Novice diver plunge for Backplate and Wing?

Oh dear, I wish I could edit my post (am I being an idiot, or can I not edit a 'liked'post?); not only does it contain a few typos, but I have also made the outrageous claim that when backpacking.... ....I roll up my backplate... I definitely meant, the wing Do not try to roll up your...
