I got a book "Divers guide to underwater america" that states Dale Hollow Lake has 130 depth and 25-30 ft vis. Iam looking for someone that dives the lake and can tell me the true story. I was thinking of driving out in april or may( as most lakes are the clearest in the spring). Let me know...

Planning a Trip - Need Help

Yea, I've checked the dive shop site and campground sites in the area. I was hoping for someone who dives the lake for some dive sites and tips. I've been diving ARK. lakes the last few years. Believe me I know cold, even in august those lakes are cold. But I was looking to expand my horizons...

    Lake DeGray

Tony, glad to hear from you. I thought you were already down south. Yea, I checked about 5 sites and it was all trashed out. I think the heavy boat traffic of the 4th caused the problem. I'll be at broken bow on July 29,30,&31. That's just up the street from you guys. hint, hint.

    Tenkiller Report

Above the water, the lake is in great shape. Below it's, bad, bad, bad. Vis at Old Cookson (the town underwater) was 1 to 2 feet. I then went on to the Terrapin Bridge site. Above 25 feet vis @2 to 4 feet below 35 feet 1 foot vis. and of course the bridge is at 60 feet. It was not a good weekend...

    Lake Ray Roberts

Have dove by the dam across from the campground. Low vis, just rocks. You need a boat. I would be interested in the dive info. on the lake. Why not post it on the board for everyone. Ric

    Thought I would try here

Tenkiller can be a great dive IF you have a boat. Otherwise the shore dive is from the state park at the south end of the lake. Their are a lot of building under water but you need a boat. Vis can run @5-10 ft at the park and greater in open water. Drop by the local dive shop at the south end...

Free places to dive in TX

If you're going to Whitney. Dive the West side of the dam. There's a vertical wall from that point to the dam. Vis is always on the poor side and yes bring a light, but the price is right FREE.
