The most ridiculously overstaffed Fundies class ever taught . . .

DaleC don't forget that you have a big GUE community here in Vancouver too! Come dive with us - we'd love to have you. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I am curious to know why you think practicing kicks on the surface in a dry suit is silly? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Somethings wrong with this picture?

Lack of drysuit seems like the real issue here :)

    My first ice dive

At the risk of sounding blunt, do you know why this was incredibly dangerous?

    diving Britannia

This weekend the vis was decent. The access is not great but I've used it when it was worse. And I do it in double 130s. You just gotta go super slow. Though I have seen awful vis too - literally zero vis in the top 5 meters but totally crystalline below.

    diving Britannia

If anyone is going to be up there this weekend diving the Ready and the Cape Swain (the wreck about 100m South of the Ready) I would be grateful if you could take some viz / temp readings for me at both Station A and Station B (if you are properly equipped). Both measurement stations have...

    Dry Suit cert in BC

I would say IDC is fantastic too. Also the only shop in Canada with a GUE instructor on staff. I did all my certain through them including GUE work. Really really professional.

    Aesthetics in a dive shop?

There is a particular store in Vancouver that stocks all kinds of techy stuff, webbing, backplates, can lights and so on. They are super organized and have spoiled me for going anywhere else.

    Wreck Bucket List?

I would also love to dive the Prinz Eugen. Hard to access though due to the military base.

    Wreck Bucket List?

More of a dream than anything - but one day, the Graf Zeppelin would be nice. Also the High Seas Fleet :)

    DIR-friendly shops in Denmark?

Hi folks, Hoping you can help a Canadian out - I am going to be in Copenhagen on business from January 13-17 next year, and I am interested in puttering around a dive shop to see if I can track down some Apeks DS4's or Tek3's. Are there any shops you'd recommend? I'm a GUE guy so a place that...

    Flexible Dive vehicle for doubles

I have a Jetta TDI wagon and it is great for doubles. I can carry two full sets plus ancillary gear with ease! The TDI part is more relevant than it may seem - plenty of torque ;)

GUE Fundies class report, days 1 and 2

Ditching the can light is totally within rule #3 of course: Nothing underwater is worth dying for.

GUE Fundies class report, days 1 and 2

You may also find that you become increasingly interested in diving with GUE divers. That is how it happened for me. I used to dive with a lot of different folks with all kinds if gear configuration. But now 99% of my diving happens with other GUE divers. We have a good community here in...

How conservative is the PPO2 Limit

I always keep pO2 below 1.2 if at all possible. That said, I was about 1.29 last weekend, but only briefly.

    Fundies this weekend!

Good luck! It's not about a pass or a provisional - it's about the journey and about learning. Heck, it took me a YEAR (long story) to pass Fundies and I never regretted it at all. I learned so much and it made me so much more skilled and confident in the water (and beyond that, the whole...
