There are meny choices but I use DAN/H2O. Just a no brainer for me as I have DAN already. You can put your own value on your gear. The more you value it, the bigger premium. Easy

if the class was a PADI class, your observation would be correct. Each dive has skills attached to it. Dive #4, the last for OW, requires a hover and mask removal and replacement.

Sea & Sea makes a nice polycarbonate housing for your camera. It is low profile and has a price point half of the aluminum ones. I have had one for years with no issues. Ikelite also makes a similar priced housing but I prefer not to comment on it.
