Ocean Quest has a frequent group of divers as well... in Foxtrap NL about 30min from St.JOhn's... IN pei.. I am not sure if there are any clubs.. In Fredericton NB, there's UNB dive club and Tankers Scuba Club. Moncton Dive club I am not sure if it's still up and running.

It sounds like you fried your battery pack.. But you also your bulb may be toast as well. .once the contacts corrode the bulb is usually toast as well.
