@ Marie13 Why would you say that? In his article, John talked about using his BFK if you cared to read. He didn't mention prying souvenirs off wrecks. I never witnessed him doing this, too. If your diving does not require a BFK, it's fine. Why the irony about those who can well use one.

I don’t know Nomad but I dive with a Diamond that has a continuous bungee. It runs over the back and is connected on both ends via boltsnaps to the shoulder D-rings. It works OK. Maybe it could make it more difficult to fix a bungee failure (not a big problem) or would require one more movement...

IMO rubber bands are better than the clasps/buckles some fins come with. Perhaps spring straps are even better. Take in account the buoyancy of the fins and how it will influence your balance in the water. Heavy, negative fins like F1 are ok for a dry suit but could be difficult to balance out...
