Inexpensive but decent BC for female divers?

I love mine and wouldn't go back to my old jacket style.

    REEF Seminars

I did their Discovery Tour to Turks & Caicos last Nov and had a great time. I found it to be much more enjoyable than other "dive and drink" trips I had been on in the past and I really enjoyed knowing what I was looking at when I was diving.

    diva lx BCD

I had a Seaquest Diva and hated it for COLD WATER diving, and I see you are from an area that has that so I'm going to assume you do some of it. It was great for warm water, when you have less weight. In cold water you wear so much more weight that during surface swims I had the bladder...

    MAKE-up and DIVING

I would have to agree with you and I would consider myself only marginally a tomboy. Not to mention the fact that the less you do when you get up, the longer you can sleep before getting up...... It's kind of like the women I see at the gym on a weekend morning who whowered BEFORE getting...

I'm going to be cold huh?

I can second that. No use having taken all those classes if you won't dive very often because you're too cold. Been there, done that as they say.

    dry vs. semi-dry snorkels

Mine doesn't even make it to the bag unless I'm going tropical and think I might snorkel. I actually had to search for it back in Nov. And yes, I don't use one for exactly the same reason. And after 5 years, I've never been in a situation where I wished I had it. Around here, the people...

    "Oh, you're a diver too?"

Oh, bullheaded isn't quite where I would have gone. If someone did that to me, I would have ripped him a new one up one side and down the other.......

    looking for a buddy

And a little too cold to "do it on the bottom"......ROFL It's a good thing none of the non-diving women around here don't have that "jealousy" problem, I'd be SERIOUSLY lacking in dive buddies....... But yes, too bad you aren't here.

    "Oh, you're a diver too?"

Oh, it's a probably a good thing you don't have my hotheadedness (thanks to the German/Irish blood), that would have SO not gone over well with me. God only knows how many expletives would have come out of my mouth.... But, we're all behind you for support as you assert yourself with your...

    Exercise & diving, How long?

I was always told to work out after diving, if at all. But when I was on a vacation in Curacao, one of the men worked out every morning and on my recent trip a woman ran each morning. But, I'm no doctor.

    A Wet Wetsuit?

I do it in a shorty, but I wouldn't think about peeing in a full wetsuit. But, I never seem to have ANY desire (or need) to pee in my dry suit. It's usually in the middle of a dive and I help the "water running through to rinse" by tugging on the legs and letting the water run through a bit...

    women's BC info needed

Where are you going to do most of your diving? I started out with the Diva and hated it, but a lot of it is the conditions I dive in (it's not a cold water BCD). I prefer a woman's back inflate. I have no personal experience, but a woman on my last tropical trip was quite favorable to her...

    Fear of Clearing the Mask

I had a horrible time with mask clearing, in the pool and the open water. I dive with my contacts and I took them out in the pool just so I would not have to worry about them. I had such a hard time that I spent an entire pool session practicing it with another (female) instructor who my...
