If I may add to FoxHound's post: I see alot of divers push their arm through the handle of the dive flag handle the OP posted. I always felt doing so was just as dangerous to clipping it off in the event that someone on the surface starts to pull on the flag line. If seen divers struggle to take...

During an OW pool session my power inflator started inflating my BCD by itself while in the pool. My instructor had me disconnect it and orally inflate it as needed to continue the session. It was good to learn how to inflate it underwater to how to deal with equipment failures while in the water.

How many dives do you have to have logged before you can take this class? :-)

I had the same question and I had to double check with my instructor to make sure he gave me the right book! The title did seem misleading.

I have seen the word "kit" used on scuba forums before when referring to your gear. Most of the LDS's I have come across are not familiar with internet scuba forums and may not be hip to the jargon. I have used the word "rig" to describe my equipment before!

Shmuggy, Yes I have seen the noise maker rattlers that you mention and I will add it in my gear menu. I see now how they can be useful in the situation I had. I didn't have sun screen on and now that you mention it I do remember tightening the straps to get a better seal but it was not helpful...
