    Key West in March

Hello All: I just found out I'll be in Key West in March and would like to get in some bottom time. My dive buddy limits her diving to realtively shallow (60') reef type of diving. Probably look at doing 4-6 dives total. I will haev a car, so some travel is OK. Any suggestions?

    Diver collapses off Cape Hatteras

I don't normally get mixed up in these threads, but feel I have to defend the captain and crew of the Flying Fish. I've dove with this group for many years, and they have ALWAYS done some level of salvage. Anybody elese who says that other NC dive operators don't do it hasn't been diving long...

    DCS incident in NC

Hi Guys: I'm glad my exerience was one that can be of a lesson to others, particularly since I have no long lasting downsides. I'd like to respond to as many of the questions as I can: Manbearpig wrote: "Is wilmington a pretty good spot" In my opinion, NC is the best diving in the world...

Hello All: I had a dive accident a couple of weeks ago and wanted to be sure to post it so that others can learn from it. First, a little background on me as a diver. I have been diving for about 15 years and have almost 500 dives in my log book. I own all of my own equipment, have it...

Anyoone up for Rawlings February 17 or 18?

that's a bummer! I'll also be doing Milbrook on March 11 with The Dive shop out of Fairfax. Maybe if your new suit comes in you'll be able to go then. I'm trying to get as much water time with my dry suit as possible becuase I seem to have problems venting properly. Maybe next time...

    Rodanthe, N.C. How's the diving

Johnny at Outer Banks Diving in Hatteras is the best in the area, and not too far from Rodanthe. Plus the diving is typically clearer and warmer than the trips out of Nags Head. Besides, Johnny's a real professional, solid operation and as safe as anyone out there.

    Bug Hunting Trip to Florida?

No teeth or pinchers, but those mandibles can take off a finger (saw it happen in Morehead City, thought I saw some pictures once on this board of someone who lost the tip of their finger!). I had one grab my glove once, and cut through the tip of it. Watch 'em, they will bite!

Hey guys! I'm going to give a try for Saturday, won't stay overnight but would like to meet up with everyone and say "Hi!" to those I know, and introduce myself to those I haven't officially met yet! So, God willing and the crik don't rise, I'll be there. Are you going to coordinate a food...

South Florida Dive Boats - last update 5/2013

Did a trip out of Pompano with Conrad on Miss Conduct last week (3/4 & 5). Just want to be sure to echo what other folks have said (I got his name from this forum): He runs a good boat, great dives. Puts you where you want to go, in the areas that meet your needs. I wanted to lobster and...

    Barracudas

I spear in NC all the time and have never had a problem with Barracuda. They are a sight fish, so if you are concerned put your kill in a game bag to keep it out of sight. HJust the same, I've never had a problem with them. I am usually much more concerned about the Sandtigers than...

    spadefish

They're not bad, I just prefer other fish (grouper and flounder for me). Lots of people eat them up and down the coast, and there is usually an abundance of them.

    Are the wreckmaniacs finally dead!

Ken: Really cool wreck, and it is still giving up artifacts. Seawitch found a medicine bottle on the wreck and an animal figurine. Lots of wild life, good relief, was really great the day we were there in May. Sorry guys, i've not been visiting the boards in awhile (actually busy diving...
