I did my nitrox certification with Caicos Adventures about a year and a half ago. Richard was my instructor. He was great. I had done the book work/test at home so I just needed the check out dives which just means analyzing a tank before each dive and showing you know how to use your computer...

The gekko is very easy to use...even for someone who does not do well with regular computers. My only criticism is that it is very conservative, a good thing at times, but also difficult when everyone else is not diving a Suunto and still have 5-7 minutes before deco.

I would also check out Deep Blue (www.deepbluecozumel.com). They also have fast boats, small groups, nice beach SIs, etc. I think they were $62/2 tank dive when I was there a few weeks ago.

Check out Earthwatch (www.earthwatch.org). I have never gotten to do one of their trips, but I always get their catalogue to see all of the adventures.

I have the Balance and have really liked it. I have also been very happy with the service provided by Seaquest. After about a year the top of the zipper on my pocket broke off. I sent my BC back to Seaquest and within two weeks they had repaired the zipper and sent the BC back.
