i was taught to use 18% grey to adjust WB. I've always found a suitable substitute to be sand underwater or my palm. I'll have to try other neutral colors - thanks..
sweet videos! are you using the CHDK hack? If so set your video quality for 90-99% - be forewarned - VERY large files. And do a manual white balance every chance you get - you can shoot a white patch of sand or hold your palm in front of camera (little tricky)

actually i always use little canon point and shoots cause you can hack them and one of the advantages is you can up adjust the video quality (as well as shoot in raw and go much smaller in aperature, and much faster in shutter speed.

I’m pretty sure what you mention plays a role here – I most probably am using different body mechanics/muscles while on the surface. Before I added trim weights to my back inflate BC, I thought the cramps could be attributed to me constantly fighting the tendency to pitch...

what are your emergency procedures
what are your emergency supplies...

The seller's a tool -that's all there is to it - assuming, of course, it played out as described - and no one seems to be debating that.
