I feel that. I lost about 800 dives due to a hard drive crash and replaced computer batteries. I was able to download the ones in my computer, but have no idea of any of the additional, non computer tracked data. Kinda useless.
Maybe a regularly scheduled export might be a good idea. Thanks!
That has been my problem. Uwatec to Suunto to Shearwater. Plus, I added the complication of windows to mac.
I'm sure there must be a vendor agnostic app out there!
Thanks. The reply above yours planted the seed and you just plain out said it. I don't really feel the need for a dive log app on my phone, but I suppose the ability to still use Subsurface might just be a reason.
Definitely agree on the mac - bluetooth being buggy.
I know I checked out MacDive when I first switched to a Mac, but I didn't see the value. I really only log the dives so I can keep track of water temps in repeat dive locations so I can plan my exposure suit.
You did plant the seed of trying to connect the Teric to an iPhone app. Maybe that...
It's a macbook air, about 3 years old and running ventura 13.something. I keep it current.
I can't seem to get the Subsurface to recognize that the computer bluetooth is turned on. Although I can connect to other bluetooth devices, Subsurface never lists the Teric (also in bluetooth connect...
Just recently swallowed the Shearwater Kool-Aid and am struggling with the crappy dive log software. Seriously? My old Uwatec software had more bells and whistles!
I'm certain there is more that I want, but at a minimum.....
Any way to change the columns displayed in the table?
Any way to edit...
Apologies that I'm a little late seeing this. We were at Columbia Shallows for a DSD on Saturday, June 3rd, and it was 87 degrees. Freakishly hot. Most other dives with depths of ~70 feet were 84 degrees.
Enjoy!
Yes, thanks. My thought was that I could wrap it around or bungee it to my LPI hose. It seemed quite simple to do, but the guy at the dive shop made it seem like a big deal. Knew I could get the right answer here.
The tech pulled out another brand’s — Garmin maybe? — to show me what it looked like and had a spare in a little toolbox thing that looked like a save-a-dive kit on steroids, but told me he couldn’t sell or give it to me. Such foolishness! It wasn’t my regular LDS. I was in the Florida Keys...
$1.50. That’s hilarious! Thanks for the link.
I may need to swap my hoses, but right now it’s in my 2nd hp port and it stick out from to top. Just seems odd, and I was looking for options. I’ll swap the console hose with it and see if that’s better.
I take it you’re suggestion is to leave it...
Getting the run around, so I have come to the experts!
I stopped at a LDS today to purchase a hose for my Swift transmitter and was told 1.) it needs a valve (Schrader?), 2.) it should have been in my transmitter box (it was not), and 3.) they don’t sell them.
So … what´s the truth? If I want...
Thanks!
I may have had the deepstop option on, yes. Good catch!
I don't use a drysuit (yet) as all my diving is in warm(-ish) water here in Florida or in Cozumel. I wrap an elastic ponytail holder through the clasp and place the other end on my thumb ... just in case. I've never had it...
Makes perfect sense. I've always dove Nitrox at 21% on my computer for the safety margin, but if the computer is already conservative, I'm doubling down when I don't have to. It's been a really enlightening thread. I'm so glad I asked and that you have all contributed so much and so much detail...
I finally checked out the Teric. The page loads with a "as low as $1,150" 😂 Plus another $400 for the air integrated transmitter. Ouch. Maybe someday.
But it certainly does look like a sweet computer!
Mine has also received a software upgrade since I got it maybe a year ago.
I appreciate you trying and sharing the info. Even the discussion has kept my wheels turning....
