I am planning a dive vacation early next year and was looking into liveaboards. To me liveaboards make most sense when they get you to diving not accessible by land. In other words if I can dive Belize by land and
liveaboard, I would do land because why would I want to miss the Mayan ruins...
I have looked at drysuit designs and was wondering if the pockets create drag? I was thinking you would be swimming with a pocket full of water and that does not sound like fun. No?
Theoretically ... yes I understand the remote risk. But have there been any Orca attacks on divers? Could the reason be the limited interaction that divers all over the world have with these creatures? Case studies on those attacks might provide us info on what we can do to minimize such...
Hello -
I would like to come to the West coast and spend a few days diving. I was wondering what is the best time / season to come and dive Washington coast? I am interested in wild life photography and would like to photograph the Octopus (if I am lucky). Also ... do you guys get orca...
I was looking to buy drysuits and came across OSS Systems.
OS SYSTEMS - The Drysuit People
Does anyone know about this company or has experience with their drysuits? I liked their ULPRO so reviews or feedback would be appreciated.

The fusion was irritating to get into because when I pulled the suit over my legs I was pulling the outer skin and the inner shell was not moving. I realized that I have to reach deeper and grab the inner shell when pulling . My instructor was wearing a Dive Rite and since it was just one layer...
It was much much better than the first one. I did 2 quarry dives in 60 ft water. I was able to get my buoyancy right this time and swimming around was not a problem. I was able to manage most of the buoyancy with only the wetsuit. BCD was only a surface flotation device for me. This is what is...
Thanks Bell. I was told that this is only something you want to do if you have a neoprene drysuit. Since I was diving trilam I was told to use suit as BCD. I will try this out tomorrow though.
I was diving in a rented Whites Fusion. To be honest, I hated that suit. The reason... it has a stretchy lingerie type material called Bullet skin that squeezes the folds of the suit against your body to make it look and act like a wetsuit. Whether it makes it more streamlined, I don't know. But...
It was like someone tried to kill me by sealing me in a garbage bag and throwing me into the pool.
Just like a wetsuit becomes part of your body and you become ONE with the ocean, that was not the "Zen" of a dry suit. It was like swimming around in a trash bag that thinks its an air balloon...
I was planning diving in an area where there is no dive support. All other gear can be taken by plane but what about this? Has anyone ever taken a compressor on a flight?
Here is a story:
Judge Dread was given the task of making USA free of terrorist attack. Judge Dread thought he would do that by killing all the people in America! If he could accomplish that then he would be 100% sure that there would not be a terrorist attack in USA. He was not allowed to do...
Begging to disagree.
Diving experience for me is something that begins the moment I go under the surface and ends the moment I come out of the surface of water. This purposefully narrow defination of "dive experience" allows me to cut through marketing thrown at a new diver by dive...
As a diver, living in VA has its advantages and disadvantages. The disadvantage is that there is no such thing as local diving! Most of the places marketed as "local dives" are in muddy waters that are only good for gear testing and training. For a true diving experience you would have to...
