    Diving in or around NY

Hi, It looks like I'll be visiting New York on business in a few weeks, with a chance to have a weekend. I'll be based on Long Is. What's the diving like? Is it worth organising a day's diving? Any suggestions for operators? Any advice would be appreciated. Note that I have no knowledge of...

    Oceanic Versa Pro

Yes, that's correct. Change from 12 to 24 hour and some (not all) of the times in the log are out by 12 hours. Change back to 12 hour format and all is okay again. I've changed between 12 and 24 many times to check this. Nothing gets corrupted. Its just in the translation routine for some dives...

    Oceanic Versa Pro

Thanks for the info. I received a reply from Oceanic locally which indicated they had seen the PC software but it had bugs and was back in USA for modification. They did not estimate a delivery time. By the way the bug with the 12/24 hour format is that, when swapped from 12 to 24 hour...

Aeris vs. Suunto vs. Oceanic computers

I've got one of the new Oceanic Versa Pros, whichis very similar to one of the Aeris computers. It is water activated, but I've never forgotten to switch it on before a dive - it does switch on automatically when I wash it. Like the other Aeris and Oceanic's, the Versa Pro has large, easy...

    What computer do you own...?

Oceanic Versa Pro. Its got big clear characters on the screen so I don't have to take my glasses with me. On a dive, it shows depth and time remaining, and optionally temperature, clock time, dive time, etc. It has a log function, a simulator and after a dive shows time to fly and desaturate...

The Great local dive shop vs. online debate

Might also be good to ask how many check prices on line. I've bought plenty of things on line, but no dive equipment so far - I've wanted to touch and feel the goods, try them on and test them.

    Oceanic Versa Pro

Hi, Is there anyone else out there with an Oceanic Versa Pro? I'm particularly interested to hear if anyone has seen the PC Software thats yet to be released, and to find out what others think about its performances. The spare lens covers are also not available yet in Australia (not that I...

Suunto Vyper vs Aeris Atmos Pro

Hi, I'd say that the Aeris is made by the same people who make Oceanic computers. I've got a Versa Pro and it looks a lot like the Aeris ATMOS 2, right down to the web demo (see http://www.oceanicww.com/ProdLine.cfm?PL=comp) So its not like the Suunto which uses a more conservative...

    Oceanic computers by Suunto?

Hi, The Versa Pro retains the tissue loading graphs, one for Nitrogen, one for Oxygen. The display contains two bits of information, depth and dive time remaing at this depth, with the option of also displaying either max depth and dive time or temperature and clock time. It worked well...

    Oceanic computers by Suunto?

Hi, I recently purchased an Oceanic Versa Pro and I'm very happy with it. It has nice large and clear characters that my aging eyes can see clearly underwater. And gives me the information that I'm looking for (depth, dive time, time available at that depth, temperature, clock time, etc)...
